As the review says, the figure looks very good, just seeing it. I like the chrome look and the detailing seems good (though not bein familiar with the suit I don't know how really accurate it is). It's a shame that functionally it's so riddled with flaws.

Definitely a more dated Figuart in terms of proportions and sculpt. Shame about the chipping chrome. I find this design pretty boring overall. Nothing wrong with it, but compared to other Metal Heroes and Kamen Riders, etc, it's an aged design. Nice surface detail, but forgettable.

Still looks cool, despite its problems.

Ever since his appearance in Gokaiger, I've loved Gavan.
His look is gorgeous. It's a great blend of the cheesiness of random sci-fi with the coolness that metal heroes naturally bring. I've always been a sucker for animal motifs, but he's still pretty sweet without any sort of overt motif. The figure itself looks really nice. I know you're not a fan of the chrome, but I am. The look of the reflective body isn't too common, and it really pops. However, I am well aware that it basically means even a smidge of dust can ruin the look and fingerprints stick to him like magnets, so it's also super understandable why they don't design things like that more often Anyway, his sword looks sweet as hell, and I love that they include a special version with an effect slash. It's always nice when they include effects parts. Helps put them into more dynamic poses rather than their typical action pose~ The horror stories about the wrists was the prime reason why I never picked one up, despite coming across him on Mandarake for about $20 multiple times. It's a real shame that the wrists are so poor and fragile. As for his other issue, I actually didn't know the chrome had a flaking problem. I know chrome does have a tendency to flake on basically anything, but I wasn't aware it was actually a big issue for him in specific. It's a real shame, because I like the look of the character and the figure, but the problems are just too much to warrant a buy. I'm kind of looking forward for the new release, but I anticipate that I probably can't afford it.

Still looks good though, although now I'm kinda glad I never gave in and dropped the money considering what's been said about the wrist pegs. For a figure that high priced (I want to say about a $100 US when it first came out if I'm recalling correctly) you think they wouldn't skimp out anything.

God, the Gavan figuarts are beautiful.
I just wish they weren't exclusives so I can buy them easier. |

Any Metal Heroes figures, flawed or not, are welcome. It's a shame almost all of them are exclusives.

Oh yeah, no matter what Metal Hero it is, I'll buy it. 100%. Exclusivity doesn't really bother me, I just want them to be quality made figures. After Gavan, Type G, Shaider, & Sharivan, Bandai finally got their act together on them. The Winspector trio are by far the best releases thus far.
