You know, I read in Time magazine that J.J. won't be able to direct Star Wars due to his obligations to Star Trek.

As a die hard, intense Star Wars fan...
I would be entirely okay with this. He knows science fiction, that much is clear. My only concern is how well he'd be able to make a distinction between the styles of Star Trek and Star Wars. I don't want to walk into Episode VII feeling like it looks just like his Trek endeavors.

Its not official until I see a source that doesn't say "An insider says". However likely it is.

It's apparently true. Nearly all the major online news outlets reported it yesterday. It's just hard for me to believe that one person would now be responsible for a fantastic new Star Trek universe as well as continuing the legacy of Star Wars. If you'd told me something like this 10 years ago I would have laughed at you. Now? I think my head may explode.

Yes, and nearly all of them have this paragraph.

Citing unnamed sources, the news was reported earlier by Hollywood trade outlets The Wrap, Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety.

They also dubbed Princess Mononoke, one of the best dubs ever. Also, have we forgotten that RPM, one of the darkest seasons of Power Rangers, was made by Disney?

I'm not arguing that JJ Abrams isn't directing Star Wars, because in the end he probably is. I'm arguing that The Wrap citing an unnamed source isn't official. /journalism mode http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-i...isode-vii.html
