Well, I watched the sub.
*sigh* JUICY! I will be watching next week. I actually rather enjoyed the episode. It didn't end up like I had feared, and it definitely gave off some similar concepts and ideas to Ryuki, almost frighteningly so, though nowhere near as dark (and to be honest, I don't mind that, I don't want another Ryuki, that season is special to me, I just wanted something closer to that than to Kyoryuger and that seems to be what we are getting). The fruit gimmick may take a little bit longer to really grow on me (haha, puns), but so far...yeah, I like it.

Just because he is only credited for one episode does not make it true. Goro was in more like 40 episodes of Ryuki, and Ryuki is by far a vastly superior show to Kabuto. While Ryuki might not have the greatest ending ever, it was far better than anything the last 10 episodes of Kabuto decided to poop out.

Anyone else noticed Yuuya disappears after calling Kouta to see the Sengoku Driver? Kouta also almost ate the fruit in the place they believed Yuuya had gone and found the belt there. He's also not in the preview...putting two and two together, I think Yuuya ate the fruit and became the Invess that attacked them.
PS The Juice Bar owner is Masato Mishima from Kabuto (aka the scary guy in glasses). Edit: and the shorter role of Goro from Ryuki. Quote:
I think your theory about Yuuya is probably right, it makes a bit of sense. He tried to use the belt, which opened that Invess gate. When he walked through the fruit tempted him enough to eat, thus turning him into an Invess. Thus the "Urobutcher" has his first stubtle strike
And shorter role? Goro was Kitaoko's confidant, best friend, and butler for nearly the entire show. Mishima was pointless by the end of Kabuto, having been TheBee once and being insanely evil by the end. Goro became the second Zolda, way more awesome Quote:
That could be true, if you take a close look at the inbess monster when it appears, you will realize that it tries to hold its right hand with its left hand, either the suit actor had no idea what he's doing or it is intended to show that it is actually Yuuya trying to control himself. Something even obvious is the monster roared at them when Kota was about to eat the fruit.

I really dug this episode. Like many have already said, I got a heavy Ryuki/Agito/Faiz vibe from it. I like Kouta. I kind of wish we had seen a little more of the other main characters but I understand the need to focus on Kouta first. I also really like the fact that there seems to be an overarching mystery ala Kuuga/Agito. I know there was technically an overarching mystery in Wizard but it tended to forget about it for long streches at a time. Hopefully that doesn't happen here. Also, the part with the stairs reminded me a lot of Momotaros which is always a good thing Looking forward to Episode 2!

Just to add to it, Yuuya's actor is not listed as a recurring cast member. That's odd for the leader of the gang.
The actor is only credited for one episode of Ryuki (and movies) and 30+ of Kabuto (and movie). That is a shorter role. Either way, my mind's always going to go to Kabuto before Ryuki.

Indeed, it seems that's the first thing everybody thought.
Great first episode, way better than Wizard's. The first battle was great with Kota learning slowly how to use his weapons. I'm really looking forward to the next ones. |

Loved the first episode, it was very entertaining and intriguing. There's so much more to know about Invess and that Yggdrasil corporation. That girl's warning gives me the shivers.

He wouldn't do that! Kamen Rider is a kid's show...right?
