I think the title speaks for itself. Now for my opinions on Iron Man 3.
Non-spoiler: AWESOME! Spoiler: I'm surprised that no one has complained about the Mandarin being an actor feeding his drug addiction. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. The climax was superb, with ~35 armors coming together to fight the good fight. Pepper not being dead was something I'm pretty sure everyone saw coming, but I do like the twist in which she saves Tony for a change. But by far the most tragic moment in the entire movie was when they bombed Tony's house. Not because of all of the armors being blown up; I was left wondering BUT WHAT ABOUT DUMMY?! Dummy... will live. I also like to think that the Mark V wasn't blown up by the Clean Slate protocol or the Mandarin, but rather was trying to catch up with the other armors when they were on their way to save Tony, given the Mark V's lack of flight. Overall, I liked it, especially the post-credits scene. |

Man, I really want to see it. Not reading spoilers 'til I do.
So, was it better than Iron Man 2?

That's great to know!
Now, if only I can get to a theater to see it...

I saw Iron Man 3 yesterday too. I thought it was alright at best, but probably my least favourite of the Marvel Cinematic universe films thus far.
Loved the detailed character study of Stark and the after effects of the Avengers but I'm one of those people that hated the Mandarin twist. I have no qualms with Killian being the Mandarin, but there could have been a better way to do it. I don't feel like everything should be like the comics, but to introduce to comic-esque Mandarin and have him seem like a legitimate threat, only to become a huge joke just felt like a massive slap in the face to anyone excited to see the character. It also meant yet ANOTHER IM film where the villain is a businessman manipulating terrorism for profit.

Watching The Evil Dead again actually made me realise the remake was a lot better than I gave it credit for. The Evil Dead may be much scarier but at least the remake had actual characters and plotting...

Just came back from Star Trek: Into Darkness. Brilliant film, and going into it with no spoilers made it even more satisfying. Benedict Cumberbatch just shines in it.

So I just watched Evil Dead II, closely, with my critic cap on and my God it didn't hold up all that well at all.

I, too, absolutely loved Iron Man 3. Everything about it worked perfectly for me. I rank it as my favorite of the three films.
I'll be trying to go see Star Trek Into Darkness next week with my wife and cousin, if we can make our schedules match up. |
