I agree, the characters always lacked depth and it wasn't much better in the finale. I hate to say it but I always felt like Ghost's supporting cast is like the token characters in anime which only stand around fights to comment what's going on without adding anything personal or engaging into the fights themselves. Of course the characters of Ghost had their development, some of them at least, but Onari, Kanon and the temple boys are so worthless it's infuriating. And even Akari who is my favorite support character form Ghost did nothing worth noting after the portal opened. Such a waste. There’s still one episode left but I don’t expect them to deliver a fitting end. Or maybe mediocrity is the fitting end for this show. Genmu is his name I think, and yes that was him. The black and purple one is Genmu, the pink and green one is our main guy Ex-Aid. |

I liked the ending, mostly because of the music and how well it was used to convey the feelings. *Runs away*

That was the problem with me and with Ghost in general. The characters I feel are quite stock if you know what I mean. Where I was sick of being told how awesome Takeru is and how he thinks of others. Yes, that's what a hero is supposed to be like, I can see for myself without being reminded every so often. Didn't help matters that Takeru is quite a bland character, like he has to say these preachy things instead of just doing it.

Apparently we're going with Genm for the romanization now. I think the idea is that genmu sounds like ge-mu, but that doesn't work in English for obvious reasons, leaving us with the most awkward sounding Rider name since good 'ol Jam(u). No, don't go!

The show as a whole did have a pretty good soundtrack. There were a few songs that were overused a little but the secondary rider themes were just really good.

It could just be Genm without capitalization, but it's a company name and looks more like an acronym so I'm going with GENM until proven otherwise. |

Great Eye, Imma let you finish, but I just want to say, Sauron did it better.
I don't know. Mixed feelings with this. But that's been the whole series. It had some fun elements. But Onari was so annoying, his moments of doing productive things just still were grating. Kind of the same for Akari, this seasons morality pet...er...mortality pet. She had moments where she was useful, and then others where she just came across as background fodder. A lot also has to be said for Shun Nishime. For literally 3/4 of the seasons episodes he was just milquetoast. Very little in the way of emotional reaction, cardboard. Ryosuke Yamamoto who was supposed to be the blank wall of non-feeling had more emotion the entire series. And maybe that was how it was supposed to be played by Nishime, who knows? I think the original character was supposed to be a young man who suddenly is considered in charge of the temple but is so bored with it, he'd rather be studying history. That doesn't mean be bored for 180 days dude. The other part to this was plot. Is Takeru dead? Is he out of time? No, because there is a persistent deus ex machina for his character. Part of me wanted him to stay dead just to get it over with. But I am glad they didn't Faiz him out of existence. My favorite character for the season is Alain. Stupid lime green sweater and all, he had the most range and backplot possible. The Fumi plot was a nice touch. Do I care that Yurisen is a cat? Nope. Why? Because Triumph the Comedy Dog has a song for that.

In all honesty, the finale left me feeling... baffled more than anything. It just felt like I was waiting for it to disappoint me, and it did on some level, but there were more moments of just confusion at what had taken place.
Why was Eyezer's first display of power breaking roofs and turning night to day? "BEHOLD MY POWER! I rotated the Earth 180 degrees on its axis! GAZE UPON ME AND DESPAIR!" Also, why did it just immediately turn into CGI garbage? Really Eyezer/writers? You couldn't have come up with anything other than animation blob? What was with that Genm cameo? It was cool, I loved every second of possibly-evil-Mumen Rider, but he just showed up, did Specter and Necrom's jobs for them, and left without a word. Probably to get back to the right set. "YEAH, take that Bugster scum!... Wait, this isn't the hospital..." Why did Takeru just hand wave the fact that the voice was his mother? I mean, it was fairly obvious, but I don't think they ever directly addressed it. It was just *voice* "Mom?". And they couldn't get Ryu's actor do do more than stand there being weirdly menacing? I get the character's probably not even all there, but yeah, go ahead and blank stare your son. Why did Takeru think it was a good idea to leave the city destroyed? I get what he was saying bUT SERIOUSLY!? OH YEAH, JUST LET THE NORMAL HUMANS CLEAN UP THE MESS WHY DON"T YOU!? *cough* And then there was the eating thing. I would have really liked the coming back to life scene more if it didn't seem like even the writers forgot that he was dead half the time. It was a great scene too, where he got his body back. Though there was a bit of anxiety where I thought his new body was someone else they would be bringing back to life with him, like Adel or, idk, his parents. It could have happened. Overall, it left me kind of conflicted. I wanted to like it, but I also wanted to just hate it and move on. Sitting in the middle like this leaves a strange feeling, not loving but not hating. Oh well, at least now I can look forward to Dockta Raida some more.
