2. Medusa makes her move against Haruto! 3. Shunpei doesn't want to help anymore? 4. Haruto unleashes Dragon's Wings! 5. Discuss! PLEASE!

Haruto sure likes to spam "DEFEND!" when he gets in trouble.
I also liked Medusa's Katamari ball attack. |

I found this episode to be fairly touching. Shunpei's arc continues to be the strongest of any of the characters, but Haruto had some actual character development too. Good fights as always, shame Wizard and Medusa didn't get to finish their match. I guess we'll have to wait for Water Dragon..
Previews for next week show that supposed Wiseman design from that magazine scan... this is pretty thin speculation but if he's being shown this early, in a episode preview no less, I don't think Wiseman is the ultimate boss. Perhaps Wiseman is not the White Wizard but merely works for him. Or maybe the White Wizard isn't actually evil. |

That aerial battle was sweet. One thing I will commend this show on is that it rarely fails to keep me visually entertained.

I enjoyed the episode. Shunpei was great to watch, the CotW's plight was touching, and Haruto didn't put me to sleep this episode. The aerial Thunder finisher was pretty cool, and Phoenix is still cooler than Medusa.
HOWEVER, there's one big problem I'm having, and that's the exclusivity of magic. Shunpei can be treated as a wizard's assistant all he wants, if he never gets actual magic, he'll never be an apprentice, and status quo is instantly restored at the end of the episode, which means Shunpei will be back to his normal antics by next week's episode.

I really enjoyed the air fight in this episode, it was quite entertaining. I also liked how they managed to work in the apprentice still being a target for the phantom. Really looking forward to next week, hoping we can get some good character development for Haruto as he really needs some.

Shunpei definitely got better this episode. MUCH more tolerable. And Hurricane Dragon is easily the most badass form Wizard has so far. Will own a figure of it.
However the most interesting part of this episode? Still the Ultimatum clips

I like how Shunpei is actually becoming bearable. However, I'm still waiting to see exactly what purpose Rinko will serve. I like Hurricane Dragon much more than Flame Dragon, may buy the Figuart when it is inevitably announced and released. Also, the battles in this series are amazing. Compared to the series I've watched already, each weekly battle is visually interesting and unique with great effects like the Defend-spire things, the Connect effects, and even the way he changes forms. It's a lot better than in previous shows where it would be one big, fancy battle one week followed by a couple episodes of simple punching and kicking, probably due to budget increases.
