This idea's not finished, but I want to say it now so that if Saber turns out to be similar I can prove I'm not a copycat XD
The fairytale rider, Kamen Rider Shining! A librarian who discovers that the evil organization E.N.D. (Ever Negative Dominion) is using books as portals to dive into fairytales and change them to have tragic endings, which causes negative effects in the real world. To stop them, she dives into the books herself, and takes the guise of a mysterious masked knight to help the heroes against E.N.D.'s forces. She acts the part of a brave, confident knight, but internally she struggles to trust her own judgement, and tries to follow the original version of each tale as closely as possible so she doesn't mess it up. As she finds herself thrust into the role of the hero, and realizes that sometimes the scripted endings of the stories aren't as good as the books make them seem, she gradually learns to fight for what she believes is right and try to get the best ending she can without worrying so much about what's "supposed" to happen. The second rider is Kamen Rider Charming, a famous actor who wants to change the stories and make himself the main hero. He would help Shining and the story's rightful protagonists when it furthers his own ambitions, but shove them aside or even turn against them if they got in his way. At first he only wants fame and glory, but he grows to realize that's not what being a hero is about, and resolves to become someone who earns that title instead of just claiming it. Part of what sparks this change of heart is falling in love with a fairytale princess who rejects him because of his selfish behavior. The third rider is Kamen Rider Dashing, a thief and former member of E.N.D. who defected when he grew disillusioned with their goals. He never wanted all the tales to end tragically, he just feels it isn't right for the villains to always lose just because some writer decided they're evil. He'll help any fairytale character who tries to defy the fate written for them, but his highest priority is getting them to choose for themselves whether to be good or evil. Curiously, when someone asks him to make the same choice, he always dodges the question, as if he's afraid to answer. The transformation items are Shield Fairies, spirits that have decided to help the riders in their quests. They normally flutter around as little fairy-like figures, and to transform their wings fold together into a shield shape that slots into the driver. Each one has a different catchphrase. Shining's Shield Fairies: - Red Fairy, Let's ride! - Glass Fairy, Dance with me! - Red & Snow Fairies, So cool, let's ride together! - Beauty Fairy Sleep Mode, Sweet dreams... - Beauty Fairy Beast Mode, WAKE THE BEAST! - Summer Fairy Queen, Behold midsummer's majesty! Charming's Shield Fairies: - Snow Fairy, So cool! - Tower Fairy, Rise above! - Red & Snow Fairies, So cool, let's ride together! - Twin Fairies, We fear no witch! Dashing's Shield Fairies: - Mirror Fairy, Look in wonder! - Golden Fairy, Just right! - Ocean Fairy, Make a splash! - Wicked Fairy, CURSED CALAMITY! (Can anyone guess what story each Shield Fairy is based on?) Last edited by FairyKing; 10-29-2020 at 04:46 PM.. |

Let's see...
Oh, and the Glass Fairy, which you didn't mention, is Cinderella. I'm glad you caught that the Beauty Fairy is both Sleeping Beauty and Beauty & the Beast, I'm pretty proud of that one And yep, you're right about the Tower Fairy, Twin Fairies and Ocean Fairy. I imagine there's only one of the driver adapter that lets the Red and Snow fairies be used together, so at first Shining and Charming have to take turns with the Red & Snow form, but when Shining gets more powerful forms she leaves the adapter to Charming who later uses it with the Twin fairies. And I also want a fairy based on Alice in Wonderland, but I'm not sure what her power should be. Maybe the Mirror Fairy (Look in wonder!) who doesn't grant a form of her own but instead copies the form of another? I could give that one to Dashing, to fit his backstory as a thief by letting him "steal" the powers of other riders.

Oops, I guess I forgot Glass Fairy. That's on me. XD And, well, my gut wanted to go with Snow White, but I guess I thought it was a red herring and didn't follow through. Should've saw the Snow White and Rose Red connection. XD Hmm, that's actually an interesting development for Shining and Charming, at least in terms of their powersets! Ooh, I really like the Alice in Wonderland idea! I think it fits perfectly! |

Thanks! I like how it worked out that Shining's two big power-ups before her final form are similar to the final forms of the other two riders: Red & Snow uses two fairies just like Charming's Twin form, and Beauty Beast Mode is a "dark" fairy just like Dashing's Wicked form.
I think the Mirror Fairy works especially well as a form for Dashing since he'd be introduced as an antagonist at first (unlike Charming who's a jerk but still a good guy), and being able to copy any form the hero uses against him is a great antagonist power. Oh, and here's some ideas for exclusive forms: - Wind Fairy, Blessed breeze! Used by Dashing in a prequel V-cinema, set before she was corrupted into the Wicked Fairy. - Never Fairy, Out of time! Used by the movie villain rider, Kamen Rider Swashbuckling, a storybook villain who obtained the power of a Kamen Rider himself and now conquers and plunders his way through the story worlds, hunting the one fairy who could stop him... - Nights Fairy Shade Mode, Tell a story! - Nights Fairy Sultana Mode, Tell one thousand stories! Used by Shining as her movie-exclusive forms, she's badly injured at the start of the movie locking her in her weaker mode, and Shining must race to restore her to power before Swashbuckling catches her!

Swashbuckling sounds like an awesome movie villain! I guess the 'Never Fairy' is suppose to be a play on 'Neverland', a Peter Pan based villain. XD And I really love the Sultana fairy and it's 1001 Nights motif. If Marchenger were to get that crossover, maybe Shining could get an exclusive Fairy from them. Like, maybe...
- Axe Fairy, The Hunt Is On! Maybe Shining could get it from either my White or Red Rangers, based off of the Huntsman that appeared from either of their tales (In Snow White, they're suppose to kill Snow, but bring the Evil Queen a fake heart and in Red Riding Hood, in some versions, he cuts open the Big Bad Wolf and saves Red and Granny). |

And I like your idea for the Axe Fairy! For some reason I imagine Shining feeling a protective instinct towards Marchen Red when they cross over, almost like a big sister, so maybe the Axe Fairy is the result of that. Maybe she goes to transform with the Red Fairy, but instead it turns her into the Axe Fairy form, and the fairy explains that since the role of Red Riding Hood is already taken in this story she became Red Riding Hood's protector instead. Meanwhile, Charming spends most of the crossover unable to transform, because he tried flirting with Marchen White and the Snow Fairy got jealous and refuses to work with him until he apologizes XD

I'm still developing Shining, but meanwhile here's another idea:
The Psychic Rider, Kamen Rider Psi-K! In this world, roughly 5% of the population are Espers, humans born with psychic abilities, identifiable by a "third eye" mark on their forehead that gets more visible the more they use their powers. An Esper who loses control becomes a rampaging monster called a Psych-Over, sometimes they can be saved and returned to normal but other times the change is permanent. Because of this, Espers face widespread fear and prejudice from normal humans, and the distress this causes them raises their risk of going Psych-Over, creating a vicious cycle. Into this conflict steps Seiko Gushiken, AKA Kamen Rider Psi-K. She's an Esper who used to work for the secretive company Core Techs, who experimented on her to enhance and refine her powers and then sent her to hunt Psych-Overs. On one such mission (the first episode), she forms a bond with an orphaned Esper girl named Mirai, who holds great psychic potential that multiple sinister forces will stop at nothing to get their hands on, including the anti-Esper hate group Braindead, extremists within the Esper rights alliance Esperanza, and her old bosses at Core Techs. All three of these groups are willing to unleash Psych-Overs for their own purposes, and I think all three of them might eventually get Kamen Riders of their own too. The collectables are Psycards, cards themed after the Tarot major arcana that contain psychic powers extracted from Espers, a process that can possibly save someone who's gone Psych-Over but also possibly kill them. The Psycards are used to transform, summon items and activate special abilities, but unlike past card-based Riders, all Psycards are in the same style and can be used by any psychic Rider, so they could be traded or stolen back and forth between the characters, and duplicates could exist too. I haven't developed the other Riders much, though I have a vague notion of two brothers who become the twin Kamen Riders, Egos and I-D. And yes, the names are all driven by horrible puns XD

(I feel a bit weird being the only one posting in here, but since nobody else is doing it, I guess I can keep going)
The Phantom Thief Rider, Kamen Rider Camo! In the near future, the A.I. company Hiden Intelligence uh I mean Kazama Robotics has taken the world by storm with their advanced robot series, called Mimi, which use an advanced learning program to quickly master any skill a human can. Only a few people know the terrifying truth: the Mimi "learning program" is actually a system for stealing skills and memories from humans! One man fights to stop the Mimi, expose Kazama's crimes, and steal back the stolen memories. His true identity a secret, he is hunted by the police, branded a criminal by the media, and whispered about in urban legends as... the Kamen Rider. Kamen Rider Camo is the main character (obviously), but he's not the point-of-view character, and stays mysterious for much of the series. Even the name he gives, Hirose Mitsu, is a play on "himitsu" (secret). The POV character is a journalist who accidentally becomes his sidekick when her attempts to learn the truth about him lead her to get caught up in his war against Kazama Robotics. The collectable items are Guise Disks, which contain skills and memories stolen by a Mimi. Only the stronger Mimi have them, weaker Mimi run on copied data. Each Guise Disk is themed after a job or occupation, and besides being used for Rider forms, either Mitsu or the person who the memory was stolen from can activate it to temporarily gain the skills it contains. When Mitsu uses a disk like this, he also instantly gets disguised as having that job, and when a disk's rightful owner uses it they permanently regain their stolen memories. Mitsu's ultimate goal after defeating Kazama Robotics is to return each Guise Disk to its rightful owner. Like with Psi-K, I haven't developed the other riders yet, but I know the second and third should be named Flicker and Mirage so that all together their three names make a play on the word "camouflage."

___ I've held off on posting this, but I don't really think I'm going anywhere with this concept, so figured I'd put it out into the wild anyway; The series would take place in Tokyo, or some kind of large fictional city that has a lot of neon lights that make the night as bright as a star. While from the outside, the city is a bastion of technological advancement. But every citizen is aware of the massive turf war going on. With gangs? You wish! These are done by massive corporations. There are three main corporations fighting each other, with various smaller corps either being absorbed by the big 3, are trying to carve a small niche for themselves, or merging together to form a big enough power to topple the other 3. And how are these battles fought? Usually with what are called 'Mengu Core', a face mask that transforms employees into monster soldiers, with higher ups getting better masks that makes them look more like monster-like samurais. These constant battles are always bringing in the common folk into the middle, with the companies always sweeping you under the rug-one way or the other. But, hold on, it seems one of the companies have done inventory and a Mengu Core is missing. Well, that's because it was stolen and reverse-engineered into the 'Kage Driver', a special belt buckle and the transformation trinket that transforms Matsuba Edo, aka Codename Iga, into Kamen Rider Tokage! Translator's Note: 'Tokage' is Japanese for 'Lizard', but 'Kage' on its own can also mean 'Shadow'. Another Note: I'm partially aware that Gaim has a Warring States/Samurai theme going on, but I thought it'd be interesting if we took that theme, but put our hero in the role of a ninja instead of another warring lord. Matsuba is effectively a ninja and the chosen champion of his clan to become the Kamen Rider in order to fight the Company Lords from the shadows and take them for the sake of the common man. Over the series, he'll get various 'Jutsu Batteries', effectively tube-like devices that he'll put into a holster on his hips for the Kage Driver to activate a jutsu. He'd also get various other tools outside of Jutsu Batteries that are legit ninja tools, like katanas, shuriken, caltrops, and so on. I can't think of what secondary riders could be, but they could maybe be based off of other animals associated with ninjas, like a Kamen Rider Gama(Toad) and Kamen Rider Kitsune(Fox), perhaps chosen from other clans. Perhaps they could be enemy ninjas working for these Company Lords, as Samurais did have ninjas under their employ. |
