True story.
For about 2 weeks my back molar on the upper left part of my jaw has been killing me. Thought it was just a cavity because it just ached, I could chew just fine. Yes, it was a cavity. It developed behind a loose filling and hit the canals by the root. I thought I was going to have an appointment scheduled but nope ... took me to the oral surgeon and 60 minutes later I had my first root canal. The scary part? I am 100% pain free approaching 8 hours since surgery. I've taken 2 Advil right after the surgery. I'm not tender, I'm not sore, I'm not under effects of novacain, and I was given no pain killers after surgery. Weird huh? Cost me a pretty penny though >_< |

That sucks. :/ I almost had to have one a few weeks ago. Tooth wasn't killing me all the time, but any cold liquid made it go absolutely crazy. Dentist said it looked like an infection but the actual tooth didn't have it and was too close to my sinus to be sure. A week and a half of antibiotics later and the pain was gone. Now I just have to hope it doesn't come back, because if it does it means root canal.

Are they giving you a cap? I had to get a cap. Yeah, $1k for the procedure, another $1k for the fucking cap! Still paying that fucker off, and I have TFCon coming up >_< The Sedative Dressing that my other tooth got had a less than 50% chance of success. It was basically a filling with a special medicated... stuff that promotes healing. Tooth still fucking hurts 4 months later (he wanted to leave it in for 6 months). So... I think that tooth will be rooted as well. For Christmas I'm gonna ask for Credit Card Payments >_< |

$1300 for the root canal, but insurance covered a little more than 80% of the bill. The cap will probably be another $1200 or so, and I hope the insurance STILL covers that, haha.

My insurance policy is practically useless, they cover 50%, up to a maximum of $500/yr. So... With all of the dental work I had done (more than just a root) I am down about $4k... (TFCon Vendor room will be depressing XD)
