Carranger 10, 11, 12
My small complaints before seem to have faded away, 'cause these three eps were JUST as goofy as I was expecting. I'm not even sure what to say about it at this point. This show is just so weird... Signalman is pretty amazing too. I laughed way harder than I should have at the whole seat belt gag flashback Gynamo had. |

Is Carranger fully subbed now then or something?

I just started watching Gobusters yesterday and I love it. It doesn't feel as formulaic as some Super Sentai series. It feels a little different because you don't have the Monster of the Week grow in size. It's weird hearing them use Power Ranger terms like "Let's Morphin'" and "Megazord". Gobusters is one of the rare cases where I like Red Ranger. He's rash, but at the same time he can be serious. It's an odd balance that works for me.
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but do you guys have any suggestions on which Super Sentai I can show to my little cousin? She's 9 years old and she loves watching Power Rangers, so I thought maybe I can introduce 1 episode to her and see how it goes. She likes watching shows that has a lot of fighting and action, but she likes them to be funny as well. So I was thinking of showing her Hurricanger or Carranger. What do you guys think? |

I think if fun is your aim, Kyoryuger is probably the way to go. On a pure entertainment level Kyoryuger is one of the best.

I'm also watching Kakuranger and a couple Rider series as well, so it's not like I'm speeding through Carranger at the moment anyway an. And speaking of Kakuranger...I watched the first three eps. It's like Japan saw what MMPR was doing and decided to make their own series featuring teenagers with attitude. Except these kids actually DO have attitude compared to most of the Might Morphin' rangers. Interesting to see that monsters were unleashed in this series due to the ranger's own foolishness...well at least Sasuke and Saizou's. Luckily they owned up to it. I liked how they couldn't fight as well as Tsurihime in the beginning. Usually Sentai/Power Rangers has new rangers able to fight instantly. I don't know what to say about the narrator guy. He lies somewhere between annoying and stupidly funny. I also like how they're ninja ancestors just sorta show up to give them advice. Also interesting is to how all the monsters of the week correspond to mythological yokai and such. Gives the show an interesting twist. It's weird seeing the ones I recognize from MMPR, like the cab monster, though. Haha, so Jiraiya's actor really IS American, then? It's really weird seeing a ranger in a Sentai series speak almost entirely in English. This team dynamic is going to be really interesting. I also like how they introduce the full team over the course of three episodes. Interesting set up. This show is 80s/90s as hell though. This is the ranger team that'd feel right at home hanging out with the Ninja Turtles and not just because they're both ninjas haha. Another interesting thing is how the first zords they get are the last zords the MMPR rangers get with their ninja powers. Wonder why they reversed it? |

GUIS is a little strange on KakuRanger. Last year they said they were going to have the whole series subbed by the end of 2013 and now it is five months into 2014 and they still have 6 episodes left. I don't know what happened, but they were releasing like one episode every week and then suddenly it was 2-3 months of nothing out of the blue.
BTW, KakuRanger would have been planned far before MMPR even hit the airwaves. |

More Jetman!
Tran grew up in the last 20 seconds of the previous episode, and now Emperor Tranza is just running a train over everyone. Even Radiguet is bowing down to him after getting his ass kicked. I like Tranza. Outside of his stupid outfit, he's pretty cool. He's a threat without being facepalmingly stupid, which I enjoy.

I'm just glad I can watch him without him being just Radiguet with dumber hair...
