Hi
I recently got my Lightspeed Rescue zord toys out of storage, and discovered that due to interferance from family, the box was compromised and as a result a number of the toys have experienced some pretty bad yellowing, especially my Deluxe Max Solarzord toy. I'm aware of the hydrogen peroxide+UV light method that works to de-yellow plastic, but in the case of the Max Solarzord, I'm concerned for the decals on it. I have no idea if prolongued exposure to hydrogen peroxide would damage or remove the decals, and there's nobody offering replacements for Lightspeed Rescue-era decals. Can anybody confirm wether or not submerssing the Max Solarzord in Hydrogen peroxid to de-yellow its plastic would damage the decals? |

I don't know about a UV light, as UV light is actually responsible for a lot of plastic color discoloration.
Do you think the miscoloration might have come from smoke or dirt (and not direct sunlight exposure). Do you have any pictures? There are a couple of options you have: Retrobight is a hydrogen-peroxide gel which might be safer on stickers. You can also try to seal off the sticker areas with painters tape and again use a gel or cream variant of hydrogen-peroxide.

It was in a box for 2 and a half years so I don't know how it could have had exposure to any of that, only thing I do know is the box was mishandled by relatives so it did have some exposure to the elements.
This forum doesn't have direct image posting like the TF forum so these are the best photo resources I can provide. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2x1bvwnfaz...20608.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/rrxkybybnk...20626.jpg?dl=0 |

oh wow, honestly it doesn't look that bad. I would try a simple warm water and soap scrub. Seeing the original white plastic under the leg parts makes me think it its just surface dirt. I use Lysol wipes, and as always you should test on an inconspicuous spot.
It also looks like it looked like that before it went into the box and maybe you didn't notice? It looks like normal yellowing from regular display.
