Talk about news that you're excited about from your favorite artist/band, upcoming releases, what you've been listening to lately, or really just anything pertaining to music here.
I'm really hoping that this thread doesn't turn into a "What are You Listening to Now?" kind of thread, where it's just listings of a band/song. I'm really interested in hearing what people are listening to, but if you're going to post it, maybe talk a little bit about the song or album that you're linking to. ------------------------------------------------- So yesterday The Wonder Years revealed the release date for their latest full-length. It's coming out on May 14th! A mere two months away. It kind of took me by surprise that it was being released so soon. With the news they posted the album cover and tracklisting. 01. There, There 02. Passing Through a Screen Door 03. We Could Die Like This 04. Dismantling Summer 05. The Bastards, The Vultures, The Wolves 06. The Devil in My Bloodstream 07. Teenage Parents 08. Chaser 09. An American Religion (FSF) 10. A Raindance in Traffic 11. Madelyn 12. Cul-de-sacs 13. I Just Want to Sell Out My Funeral I'm not too sure how I really feel about the album art. It kind of looks like it borrows heavily from the concept art to Firework's last album Gospel. I'm also a little confused to why there is no Hank anywhere to be seen on it. I'm so excited for this album. I don't think any band out there really writes music like Dan Campbell does. I've also been on a really big chiptune kick lately. And I keep coming back to this song: Big Giant Circles - HappiNESs This song to be is a prime example of chiptune done right. This song has such an uplifting and empowering feel to it, and it just constantly builds throughout the song. Little change by little change. It's wonderful. Anybody have any good chiptune recommendations? I'm a tad picky with what I like chiptune wise, but if it has a really good build with structure, I'm down. |

Been listening to the new BMTH album all week. Can't get enough of it.
It's a departure from their older sound, but in a good way in my opinion. I hated suicide season, There is a hell... was pretty good, but this is leaps and bounds better. Much catchier and melodic but still brutal in places. Can't wait to see them at warped in the summer. Head here if you want a listen. Aside from that I've been enjoying imagine dragons album. Don't understand why it isn't out in the UK till april though... |

Kokko. Finnish folk music by the band Värttinä. And if you've ever seen the episode of "Arthur" where popular new song sweeps through Elwood City like an animated precursor to Gangnam Style, and Binky Barnes comes under fire because of promotional graffiti, then you probably know about Värttinä.
If not, here's the song I'm referring to. (Note: this song is not on the album Kokko) |

Well, I'm teaching myself how to play the harmonica. I've also taken up an interest in Irish music.
Two of my favorites: (Listen to these two simultaneously.) Also, here's the piece that introduced me to these songs: |

I've never heard of her before, but I really dig this. If you like French bands, you should check out Yelle. Such good upvibe dance tunes. Last edited by Sean; 03-17-2013 at 06:37 PM.. |
