Why does Power Rangers always have a mentor? I can understand having a mentor if the rangers are teenagers or kids, but sometimes the rangers are adults playing adults and yet they still put in mentor figures. Operation Overdrive had the rangers being all adults and a robot and yet they had a mentor figure. These people are adults. If something's wrong, they can figure it out on their own. I mean there's six of them for crying out loud. In RPM all the rangers were adults too, but at least there, they had a mentor figure because she was the one that developed the suits and zords, so it would stand to reason that she would be involved in their activities. Is it because they have to have a parental figure for the kids to look up to? The only season I can think of at the top of my head that didn't have a mentor per se was Time Force.

The space rangers didn't really have a mentor, Andros mentored the others and taught them some things about space but was still a ranger. The galaxy rangers just like the space rangers didn't have a mentor, Maya taught them some things but wasn't a real big mentor figure and was also a ranger.

But he was still a mentor. In fact, not just a mentor, THE mentor!

No he wasn't. He wasn't a mentor in any way to the Space Rangers apart from the last episode. And even then it was only to Andros.

Zordon wasn't really there to mentor the Rangers in In Space. That season had no mentor, and if you wanted to stretch it then it would be Andros.

Galaxy didnt really have a mentor did they? So Space, LG, and Time Force?
I guess it just depends on what the story is going for.

Lost Galaxy pretty much didn't have. You could argue though that Captain Mitchell was a mentor to the Lightspeed Rangers. Not a whole lot but I'd say he kinda counts.

Captain Mitchell is like Superman compared to Turbo's mentor, Dimetria.
I get what she was trying to do, but she was still awful at it. As for seasons without mentors, could Wild Force count? I mean, Princess Shayla didn't exactly do much...
