Uh... yes? In my book, anything that's as close as a romance but not romantic counts as a bromance, regardless of the genders of the people involved.
Although I guess that does disqualify Shinnosuke and Kiriko because they're confirmed to have romantic feelings for each other. |

Hm, besides the obvious Shotaro/Phillip (though to me they're way more like brothers I can't deny the subtext, it's too strong ) I think a one-sided one has to be Yusuke/Hojo from Kuuga. Atleast I think the cop's name was Hojo. I just remember some folks ribbing him, calling Yusuke the love of his life or something & Hojo just stood there smiling. Then Yusuke's final henshin.........that's more romantic concern then some official couples in KR have.

I would say Taiga and Nico but I feel like that's more of a "This is my daughter now" kind of relationship.
Easy answer would be Sento and Banjo, so I'll go with Parad and Emu. |

I mean, what can I even say that hasn't been said already?! There's so many good ones, though I think Sento and Banjou are my favourite, but there's a list of honourable mentions that is very long. I would argue its a major part of the modern appeal of the franchise.

Actually I know who hasn't been talked about, despite being the main dynamic of their season.

Takumi and Kusaka, name a more iconic duo.
For reals tho, Shinji and Ren (kinda surprised no one's mentioned it yet!). Such a classic combination of two very common character tropes, but the development of their relationship and the actors' performances really made it for me. They're so iconic together, practically any Ryuki-related media climaxes on their "now it's my turn to die for u bro" moment. Bromance has always been one of the strongest points in KR shows in general I feel, I have difficulty recalling the ones that failed to resonate with me at least a little (maybe Adachi and Kiriya from Hibiki... but yeah... circumstances...). I agree too with Haruto and Niito from Wizard being underrated pairing, even if I'm not too enamored with the show itself. Not the most memorable and didn't have as much dramatic scenes, but they complement each other well in more subtle way. Yeah, kinda felt there's not enough build-up for them (still found that final scene absolutely heart-wrenching, mind.) I'd be eager to rewatch the show sometime and look more closely at how their relationship develops. |
