His death on Kiva was the saddest moment in Kamen Rider in my opinion. I don’t wanna go through that again.

The only thing I'm wondering is, are they really going to merge Build's world with the Main Timeline? Like I wouldn't mind but the explination seemed to imply any other non Sky-Wall world will work. I'm guessing this is just Zi-O set up to have a way for Build to show up but, eh?

Okay, so first and foremost that parallel universe plan is completely random and almost totally incoherent. I can respect it as a way to merge Build in with the rest of the Riders and/or as set-up for Zi-O, though. Also, even if they didn't mention it, this ties directly back to the Movie War so I can forgive it on that ground, too.
Secondly, I loved the barbecue scene. It was really nice to see the characters hanging out. It's also nice to have at least one scene where nobody has injury make-up and/or bandages on their face. I feel like it's been months since we've had that. I'll also give the show credit for having possibly the cringiest Mii-tan moment yet broken up by an obvious yet well-executed gag. Thirdly, I was a little surprised that Evolt revealed himself but I suppose this was all to set up the show's endgame. Definitely looks like Grease is done for and I'm sure something will happen to Gentoku on the way to Evolt: I don't see how the show goes into its final battle with more than the core duo of Sento and Banjou. That pairing has been so central to the series that I don't think the writers would want to toss Rogue in there for the final moments (my money is that he gets diverted fighting and/or goes down taking out Utsumi before the final confrontation). |

If I refuse to acknowledge the existence of the death flags than Grease wont die.

strangely, I don't think any of the redeemed kamen riders will be dead. It's a trend starting from Ghost, continuing to Ex-Aid, and hopefully Build.

I don't think I've ever seen a Heisei Rider show explicitly set up the plot for the next Rider show within its own main storyline.
I mean, I could be looking into it wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the route they're going. Toei definitely seems to have more interest in a shared Rider universe/multiverse than they did during the Ryuki-Kabuto days.

Rider Multiverse isn't that new of a thing though. W kind of cemented it after Decade. Out of Heisei era stuff: Kuuga and Agito might be connected, might be two different worlds. Ryuuki is its own world, as is Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, and Kiva. Decade is all worlds, but connects back to original too and has other alternate versions of those worlds. Decade's belt itself though is from original Rider world, which means it's same universe as W. It was the multiverse access belt. W is connected to original riders, but different city. OOO and Fourze are too(allegedly at least). Then Wizard is a new world, Gaim is a new world. Drive is connected to original(allegedly), as is Ghost, and Ex-Aid, then Build is a new world. So not counting the decade alternate worlds. Almost all after Decade have been connected except Gaim, Wizard, and Build. Whereas everything before Decade is mostly not connected, except for maybe Kuuga and Agito. Then everything pre-Kuuga (Showa era) is connected except Shin and maybe Black/Black RX(can't remember on this one). Though Shin may have been retconned to be connected to original. This is also why Foundation X in W reappears in most series except Wizard and Gaim, and makes no mention of the henshin gear in Wizard or Gaim. Effectively, Build was their first experience with parallel worlds. Though we do know Gaim can visit Ex-Aid's world and the W connected series. And Wizard and Gaim spilled over into each others worlds too. So they're all parallels of each other too. Then the First, The Next(sequel to The First), and Amazons are their own things. Originally, Amazons was supposed to be connected to The First/Next. But I think that since changed. Not sure. Because of Build being connected to Ex-Aid though, it's already connected to a large chunk of other series by establishing that Ex-Aid is one of the parallel worlds to Build in series. Which means Sky-wall or no sky-wall, if they can find a way to open a way to a parallel world, they'll have access to Ex-Aid's parallel world, which by connections, means they can access all worlds that Decade can as part of that multiverse, and Decade had access to all and variants of. So by connection, Decade has access to Build's world. It's more Decade may not be aware of its existence as yet. Kiva technically might have access too thanks to Castle Doran. Wataru/Kiva main world(non-alternate) did reach Decade. So Kiva's show world does seemingly have a way to multiverse travel, if even only temporary like the time door. So in theory, this means Zi-O has access to all too. Including eras within each. Like Kiva's past timeline and present day timeline(well now that's 10 years ago). Which also means Zi-O has access to the full range of Den-O timelines/eras too. Now what world Zi-O is, hasn't been said yet. Could be the main W/Originals world with Decade, or could be another new world altogether, or any mix therein of any of them. For all we know it could even be a tangent timeline of Den-O. Oh! And the oft forgotten Kamen Rider G is officially part of original/W's world. Depending on how far they've planned ahead, Zi-O might also feature future worlds that have yet to have a series. They've seemingly been planning far enough ahead, it's possible, but who knows. Build will likely merge to the Ex-Aid world since that's the one they've been to before, but it may spill over to any for all we know. Wonder if it might cause a marvel "Secret Wars" kind of battleworld too. Lots of things could go wrong there. But if they merge to Ex-Aids world, then it's part of the mainline/originals. But this is also a Rider show. Odd cliffhangers that leave us wondering what comes next is common. So they could very well end up in some random world by accident too, or Zi-O's world if Zi-O isn't part of the "originals" timeline. Last edited by Librarian; 08-01-2018 at 04:03 AM.. |

The confusion apparently stems from the fact that the movie summary said it took place after the period of war was over, which most people interpreted as being after the show. But, technically, I guess the war formally ended some time ago. It was misleading for sure.

I tend to think of the movies as side stories. or 'Elseworld/What If?' stories that involve the same characters.
...it keeps my head from hurting that way. |
