Episode 23 "Detective Liu Bei", Episode 24 "The Memory of Fireworks & Epiaode 25 "Dhou Zhou's Revenge"
This show has a habit of pulling wool over your eyes which initially seems to be just an episodic two parter into a major event with repercussions on the show. Xu Shu development was absolutely wonderful. Tying the whole father son issue with her questioning of what is a family after being accepted into Liu Bei family was a stroke of genius on the writer’s part. I do wish there were more episodes to see of Xu SHu and Liu Bei dynamic before this but what we do get is still great. Speaking of that dynamic, I really like the whole Fire Knight thing going on. It helps that the father was never intentionally malicious and when he found out it was his son he still protected him. Despite his defeat and losing his dream I do think it is overall a happy ending cause he already got what he wanted from his father's love back and easily gives Lu bei Huang Zhong. I do wish he used Huang Zhong first in his battle against Lu Bu like he did withZhao Yun back then,And continuing the show's ongoing narrative Dong Zhou returns as Lu Bu and still is the most vicious villain we’ve had on the show. Small complaint is that Cao CAo should;ve been in all of these episodes instead of just the last one simply because of Dong Zhou being here and his MO of finding and defeating Legend Heroes who commit crimes which definitely fits Fire Knight which should be counted as both vandalism and arson technically. What impresses me most about this show is its ever changing status quo. Characters don’t just stick around forever and characters are used when needed and let’s talk about Xu Shu death and the impact this has on Liu Bei as this worse then Gongzan Sun since this actual death and that she was under her direct care the guilt he bears he almost crumbles. We get to see Liu Bei at his absolute strongest and at his weakest in episode 25 defeating Dong Zhou with his rapid form chaning, to beggin and pleading to appeal to both Lu Bu and Cao Cao humanity and his utter defeat. Also turns out the show has an OP “Fight” by Noble both the opening credits and full song are on the official Youtube channel but isn't included in the actual show which is weird. Also the show also has an ED called "Yes, I'm ready to fight" also by Noble. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...ARM8_DoHNT1J3l Oh yeah Cao Cao gets to fuse both of his Legend Machines to make a new mech. It's pretty cool.

This three parter was an emotional rollercoaster, good lord.
I also wanna give a quick shout out to how the mere title for episode 23 had me hooked from the getgo. That's how you know you have a great character. But yeah, I can't really think of much else to say other than that this show really knows how to both emotionally lift me up and sucker punch me in all of the right ways. Cao Cao firing right as Lu Bu was about to wake up? Absolute tragedy. God I love this show.

The idea of a guy like Liu Bei trying to go sleuthing was instantly intriguing to me as well, and the episode did not disappoint on that front, even if the plot for these ones really ends up evolving beyond that initial concept. They kinda have it all. That initial standalone plot is quite solid, the character building with Xu Shu is charming, you get an epic theme song power-up for Liu Bei... you get to see Liu Bei just utterly defeated in the end, which also builds character, and I mean, I am still all over Cao Cao and how it feels like he was dropped in from a totally different show. A whole lot to love in these episodes! (Even if I'm late to the party again!)

Nonsense tour never late to the party here! And I do think you sum up these episodes quite nicely about how they evolve past thier intial set up.

Episode 22 "Recruit Zhuge Liang"
These last few episodes have been about squeezing as much angst out of Liu Bei and I’m all for it. Introducing a new powerful Legend Hero Ma Chao with an unstable Hero Piece that goes out of control. Liu Bei has become squarely focused on his training to the point of not caring about the new Legend Hero. A letter is given to him by Xu Shu to team up with Zhuge Liang. He initially refuses because he blames Liu Bei for Xu Shu’s death only agreeing after reading his letter and with a test for Liu Bei to obtain the Ma Chao piece. The end of the episode reveals that the warlord is Liu Bei’s brother and that his original name is Liu Jin. We see how badly Xu Shu’s death affects Liu Bei and even gets more out of Zhuge Liang’s character with how he blames Liu Bei. Also delving into Liu Bei’s backstory is great. Love the progression of the story and I’m excited to learn more about Liu Bei’s life.

Oh dang that final minute. I did NOT see that coming.
This was another great one. The backstory between Xu Shu and Zhuge Liang was great, Liu Bei's' character progression continues to be wonderful... it was just a great stepping stone for the show all around.

Yeah, I mean, there aren't exactly a ton of episodes so far I haven't said this about, but I really liked this one. The plot builds quite naturally off of everything that's been going on lately, and it's got a heck of a cliffhanger to boot. Looking forward to seeing where the show is going with that one!

Honestly guys the core strength of the show is the characters and how much I want to see thier stories play out.
