Two words:
GEN UROBUCHI Having come all this way just to see what Urobutcher's going to do with a kid's show, I can assure you that nothing he writes can ever be kid-friendly. Like, ever. I mean he can try to be good again, but at the very least he'll end up producing something similar to Digimon Tamers (a dark kid's show). This is the guy who's written really really screwed up stuff like Saya no Uta and Fate/Zero, and even Madoka Magica (something that appeared to be an ordinary magical girl anime at first) is twisted. Even if this show appears fluffy on the outside, with fruits and fairly ridiculous elements such as dancing, if you look at the plot, the darker elements are all there just waiting to be touched upon. Even the transformation sequence itself might have some kind of Madoka-esque plot twist. This is definitely intentional, and there is definitely something darker going on in the background. It'll probably start out normally like your average Kamen Rider show, but then once the plot starts rolling and things start unfolding, you'll all see the truth - Urobutcher cannot change. That's why instead of worrying about how kid-friendly it's going to be, you should hope that Gen doesn't traumatize the young 'uns...too much~ After reading this whole thread, it seems that a lot of people who still don't know who Gen Urobuchi is. Well, soon enough, you'll all learn his grimdark glory ^^ "Welcome to TokuNation! Please leave your sanity at the door, and enjoy your stay!" "Bienvenido a TokuNation! Por favor, deje su cordura en la puerta, y disfruta de tu estancia!" (How did that become our pseudo-official greeting here, also why bilingual? ) Second of all, awesome username dude. And third, many of us are acquainted with Urobuchi work and know that his series are quite dark, I guess the main reason people are worried is the possibility of executive meddling that may force Urobuchi to tone things down, in order to keep the series profitable and so on. Then again tons of us are also expecting it to be grimdark, because it's Urobuchi man! Looking forward to this and hopefully to the grimdark. Last edited by algo448; 08-26-2013 at 11:23 AM.. |

If Gaim is half of what Digimon Tamers was, then count me as a fan.

I'm actually worried Urobuchi will overdo the grimdark. His work can be seriously messed up and traumatizing. It should be accessible and safe for kids to watch, so I'm hoping Toei actually reins him in a bit.
