Does anybody else wish that Saban would go back to the style of the Zordon Era and connecting seasons and switching out rangers again? I really liked that style because it made the rangers and villians feel like fleshed out because they weren't just connected to one suit or season. We got some real development and world building out of it. For example: The Dino Charge rangers lose their powers in the DSC finale and go on to be the Ninja Steel Rangers. Tyler, Koda and Shelby keep their colors but Chase is now yellow, Kendall is White and Riley is gold (cause he's a cowboy hehe). They'd reveal that Heckyll/Snide and Zircon have some history together. They'd be the rangers for the first 20 episodes of Ninja Steel and then they'd pass their powers on to a new group of rangers for Ninja Super Steel. Then the finale of Ninja Super Steel would end on a cliffhanger and then the replacement rangers would go on to be the rangers for all 40 episodes in the Zyuohger adaption. Just like MMPR-Space.
It dosen't have to be exactly like this but I would like it if they brought this style to the show. |

Personally, I enjoy the seasons changing casts.
Characters as one note as PR characters tend to be can grow stale very quickly. I was sick of the MMPR S2 cast, but I had to bear with them through the first half of Turbo, which was just so, so tedious. While yes, there are characters I'll miss, it gives a greater sense of scale to see different teams encountering their own problems, rather than the same group of 6 teens fighting the same person for 5 years.

Absolutely not. I tend to be intrigued by frequent, partial turnover in casts, but I absolutely despise it in Power Rangers.
-From a real world creative standpoint, it's bizarre that a team of superheroes would constantly change their powers. -Rangers constantly stop being rangers for quite questionable reasons. They're fighting to save the world and they just walk off into the sunset? So, you found someone who could take over. You keep searching out or creating new powers. Why wouldn't you BOTH be rangers? Because, you know, fate of the world and all. -There's no closure. Loose ends galore. -It severely hinders its ability to continue on indefinitely. Power Rangers can, theoretically, go on forever. If you do a series about a single team of heroes, it's going to end. -Storytelling is hindered. There can't be much of an ending, and the beginning is muddied to oblivion. -Viewers will eventually stop watching without nearly as much payoff. -New viewers wouldn't be able to jump in nearly as well. -The excitement that can come with the complete refresh every season would be dampened. -The ability to shift tone and style would be lessened. |

If the writing is good and they actually explain stuff, I would be all for a return of Rangers that continue on beyond one series. I would actually love to see Koda continue on to be the Ninja Steel Gold Ranger. Partly becaise of the irony of having a caveman cowboy, and also to see him try and eat his own morpher, lol
That said, I'm fine with them sticking to the formula of every new series starting off with a whole new group of Rangers. Though I hope they get better at writing the finales for these new ones. I enjoyed MF/SMF, but that finale was anything but satisfying.

I like how they don't connect, simply because since Sentai doesn't connect, it just seems easier to not have them connected. Also, like Idol Thoughts said, it seems weird to constantly have them change powers/suits/zords all the time, and I sincerely hope they wouldn't try MMPR styled mixed footage again.

Also, you guys are talking about wanting to see different Dino Charge rangers do this and that. If they decided to employ this method, the most obvious scenario would've been starting it with Samurai when Saban revived Power Rangers. So, you'd still be on those rangers, though maybe with some new cast members whenever needed. It's extraordinarily unlikely you'd have the current group, if any of them. Ninja Steel will give you new rangers, and you may love that group as a whole and/or certain individuals that wouldn't get if they kept going with the Dino Charge cast.

Tbh even something like Karone returning in LG or Tommy returning in DT is something I would like. Say like 1 or 2 DC rangers go on to Ninja Steel but the other cast members are new. Then 1 or 2 of the new Ninja Steel cast would go on to the Zyohger adaption. Have a new cast every time like normal just keep over one so that the continuity can be a bit stronger.
Plus by doing this Saban can still get some of them New Zealand grants lol. |

I don't mind the idea of connected series. But perhaps a better approach would be "shared universe", where past Rangers can show up without having to explain much. Of course, we'd need similar Sentai footage to correspond.
I think this is the point where producing an all-American Power Rangers show isn't all THAT bad of an idea, tradition be damned... |
