Well, I don't know if this is the proper place for it or not--sure hope so (mods feel free to correct me if I've placed this wrongly)--but since it's out, I thought I'd set it off.
My copy just landed stateside and I hope to have it in a few days, but in the meantime I've been watching this series of longplays, trying to get a feel for what the game will be like, and I thought I'd share some of my impressions. -Ultimate forms are strictly timed--Climax Form, Blade King Form, Cyclone Joker Extreme, etc. They're very effective, but short-lived, maybe 10-15 seconds? Not sure how this impacts the Infinity and Beast Hyper DLCs (the footage of Infinity didn't seem to have this time limit, which would be . . .interesting.) -Blade King Form destroys all in its path. The initial Royal Straight Flush will slash a quarter of life off bosses it looks like, even at a low level. That thing is insane. -The early missions seem to follow a two-part structure--in the first mission you meet future ally Riders and fight them. After that mission, you take control of the Rider you just fought and complete a mission that's story-centric to that Rider and they can then be unlocked and used for any mission. -Kabuto can spam the hell out of Clock Up, but it's VERY brief. You also have to hit the "special" button three times to trigger his Rider Kick. -The missions are an interesting combination of tasks. In some bits you destroy enemy generators, in some you're racing on the bike to a checkpoint. In some you're trying to avoid a all-range spam attack (El of the Water and the Weather Dopant love this trick) and you have a few fights with them in between it all before the last battle. -It looks like a lot of fun mowing down mooks on the bike. -It also looks like this game is not very hard on normal difficulty--the missions take awhile to complete, but for pure challenge, there's hard difficulty or the Rider Lord Missions, which are survival-style missions. Soon as I get my hands on the game, I'll try to have some hands-on impressions for you all. |

Now that I've got my copy, some hands-on impressions:
Played through the first tier of Chronicle Mode, unlocked Wizard, W, Blade, Agito, Den-O. It's an easy game to pick up and play--the language barrier wasn't as much of a hazard as I thought and mastering the controls really doesn't take that long. The bike physics won't win any awards and the camera occasionally has some trouble keeping up with the action, but man, it's a lot of fun to pick up and play. |

Are you having any problems with the upgrading? Also is there anything special you need to play this on the PS3?

Nope! I have a PS3 slim, and it plays fine right out of the box.
Though you have to remember that Circle confirms and X backs out--it's exactly the opposite of a North American game. That can be hard to recall in the heat of things, but you'll get the hang of it. Knowing some Japanese will help, but you can trail-and-error your way through. It's very forgiving so far. The upgrading isn't too bad--I'm still trying to work out what store-bought items do what--you can buy BGM and figures which give various effects (more HP, higher attack power, etc) but in general, just grinding works OK too. My Wizard is on Level 15, and one of the changes I've notices is that my Triangle + Circle move has changed from Kick Strike to Flame Dragon's Flame attack. This is good, because Kick Strike can take a bit of time to set up, and the Dragon burst does a LOT more damage and is a lot more controllable. |

Yeah wouldn't hold my breath for the possibility of this game coming out in the states.
I'm hoping someone subs the cinemeatics I'd be interested in knowing what's going on in the game's original story line at least. |

From what I've been able to parse watching the longplays, it's very interesting stuff. Couple things that weren't expected happen.

Yeah I atleast need some subtitles version of the story. Is it enjoyable even without knowing the dialogue?

I love that whichever Rider you beat a mission with the screen does the closing "eye catch" from the show (The bug wings for Kabuto, Chains for Kiva, Medals for OOO, etc) Also: For those of you wondering about the TV Sound edition--all the songs are TV sized--maybe 1-2 minutes long. It's not as disappointing as it might be and the game allows custom soundtracks so you can slot the full versions in if you like. Been working on the second tier of Chronicle Mode this morning--have unlocked Hibiki, Kabuto, Kiva, and OOO. About to wrap it up with the last battle for this tier. |

I have ran into a stange issue while trying to stream the game. The game seems to want to override the current resolution set and go to a lower while while the PS3 is connected to the (RBGRW) component cables, but if I have it hooked up to an HDMI cable it stay at the same resolution. I am wondering if this is being encountered elsewhere and if so how can I fix it.
