Big revelation comes early, I see.
One thing I find myself glad to see was him dropping the evil tyrant act when pressed. I'm kind of sick of seeing other characters speaking for the over the top, bombastic one. "Oh, he's not actually evil, he's just putting on a charade for whatever reason" I mean, I know it's obvious and everyone can quickly parse it, but when other characters have to state that out loud so the main character doesn't have to drop the act is what annoys me. Marvelous. That aside, I dig Rita. She's fun. Dunno what's up with the random yelling, though.

I never expected about Rita and her subordinate are trying to get DNA samples from Gira and Racles.....
Rita's yeti plush really reminds me of Norg from Power Rangers Operation Overdrive. Even her judgement office really reminds me of Flurious's room. It seems next week, Racles become Ookuwagata-Ohger. Last edited by Blade Fang; 04-03-2023 at 04:53 AM.. |

Pretty good episode, solid track record for all episodes so far. Surprised the Gira Racles relationship was done early but it was a common theory so it's good to get that out of the way. Rita's quite fun though, their cold demeanor is fitting for a judge but having a shown softer side like Patren 3 was nice and them screeching when annoyed is also pretty fun considering how me and my queer friends act. Action was easier to follow for a lot of people I'd assume as I've seen quite a few people take issue with how fast everything is, but I'm so glad we still got some cool sequences like Tonbo Ohger's helmet reflecting the action and the mech sequence? I honestly loved it, of course a bunch of leaders from different cultures with their own massive character flaws would struggle to get along and it showing was very neat, I wonder if they'll learn to unite properly or if this is like Donbrothers where the team is decidedly not very well fit for teamwork

Around the world in only 5 episodes. While it was okay to have a safari tour of all the kingdoms and their cultures, I'm a lot more interested in what comes next, with the in-universe reveal of Gira Hastie that was spoiled in a magazine weeks ago and how Racles intends to deal with this credible threat to his position. We know the world of Terra and its characters, so let's see how those characters clash!
Rita's leaning more on the darker side of heroism, similar to Kaguragi. In private with Moffun, they confess their sadism towards defendants, wanting to punish them severely for their crimes. However, while they secretly enjoy the prosecution a lot more than the acquittal, it's clear that they are seriously devoted to having a fair and objective trial and willing to put aside their own biases for that. I think Rita is a trustworthy person with a functional moral compass, at least. Gokkan making its prisoners freeze as punishment seems like it's taking the whole "neutrality" thing a little too literally though. Anyway, now that we've had a proper introduction to our heroes, this is the appropriate time to declare your favorite! I predicted that it would be Kaguragi and while he's certainly entertaining to watch, I don't really agree with his underhanded way of leading. Currently, I like Gira and Himeno the most. Gira's willing to become demonized in his mission to destroy a "justice" he sees as wrong. Himeno has a strong sense of identity and the resolve to live selfishly for the dreams and future she wants. Both of them are pretty inspirational, as heroes and leaders. I think Himeno has a slight edge though, so I'm going to call her my favorite, but that could easily change later depending on how Gira's arc goes. Quote:

"Oh, he's not actually evil, he's just putting on a charade for whatever reason" They're venting. Being a king is a stressful job and the pressure to maintain their impartial and intimidating image makes them more likely to snap suddenly. Quote:
I hope we get the roll call earlier than Donbrothers, at least.

Does this revelation destroy my faith in Racles? Well he loses some points for sure, but I still don't quite despise him either. (I'm going to go down as the only Racles Fan and be the equivalent of an Onari from Ghost Fan. Ha ha.)
Yep. I think Rita might be my favorite. Kaguragi and Gira are fun, but so far, I think this episode has won me over. I love the little Yeti Plushies. But also, she's so far presented as a great character, being someone who actually cares about getting all the evidence (Ace Attorney Style!) in order to deliver a truly just trial. The bit where her assistant tells everyone to hate her and Gira's (Gira was great this episdeo too) refusal because he understands the need and the viewpoint of Gokkan's system, I think made this episode for me. Gira being Royalty is something I had a feeling was going to be the case, maybe not to the degree that he's Racles' Brother, but that he was something and not just the God Bugs saying he's cooler than Racles so he's King now. I like it. There's gonna be a heck of an explanation for how these two broke up, and likely going to make up and maybe one of them dying. The action was great and the mech fight where they're all fighting each other whilst fighting the monster was fun and the fact that the bad guys technically won was a nice twist. Next Episode: "Ya ever play that game mode in Age of Empires II, Regicide, Racles!"

Would have preferred Gira being able to henshin because he has the heart of a true leader or something like that over The Divine Right of Kings, but I'm still holding out on the show ultimately ending with a nuanced take on royalty considering the way Yanma, Himeno and Rita have been written so far. Love Rita so much by the way. Don Murasame was nothing, but they have potential to be a true successor to Stacey's sad cat vibes
