Your First Experience Watching Power Rangers
Mine was Day of the Dumpster. I remember watching it thinking "This is the greatest and stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life.." And being a fanboy ever since. I didn't even know what Super Sentai, Zyuranger, or any of it was at the time. I had no idea what show they had taken the footage from. I just know I was loving it. And that was all that mattered.
I can't remember, the farthest i go is lightspeed rescue.
Ah yes! I remember when I was little one when MMPR first came on. Oh how 1993 was long ago.
Ninja storm, left around SPD, kinda came around Samurai.
The earliest memories of PR I have was the Green Ranger arc.
I was a wee lad in 4th grade in 1993 when Day of the Dumpster aired. I was ready for it based on the Commercials they had to advertise when it started. I grew up on Showa Godzilla movies and had already had a love for superheroes. This was just 2 of my loves meshed together. I stopped watching on a weekly basis around 9th grade when Lost Galaxy started. I would keep tabs on the new seasons and watch an episode here and there of everything. Came back full time for Dino Thunder. Dropped off and kept tabs like i did before. Then i discovered Sentai / Gokaiger and now i am a hardcore PR / Sentai Supernerd. :)
I'd say probably Lost Galaxy but I can't remember what exact episode. It was probably one of the first ones though.

Damn, we're old... |
I watched the first episode when it originally aired. I didn't really know anything about it, beyond the horribly stupid title, but I was a Fox Saturday Morning loyalist at the time so I just left the tv on when it started up. I honestly don't think I liked it at first - maybe in a "so bad it's good way," but I don't think I thought the show was actually good in any way until Tommy came along. Once the Green Ranger was there, though, I was hooked.
One of my earliest members period is watching the Dino Megazord combine with my mom.
Note: I was two when MMPR first aired :lol |
First episodes I ever saw was the Quasar Quest two parter from Lost Galaxy.
I think I might have started sometime before Season 2 started. I remember I was at a toy store and I saw a Red Ranger figure. I was love in Dinosaurs at the time and he look like a T-Rex. So I ask my dad to buy it and I love the thing. Then I started to watch it on Fox Kids and got hook on it since then. I stop watching PR when Turbo started in 1997 then kinda got back into it when Dino Thunder started. In 2012, I started both Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. So Gokaiger and the Megaforce hype made me want to check out the seasons I miss out on.
The first thing I can remember about Power Rangers was having the VHS tapes with episodes centered around Zack and Kimberly, as well as having both the original MMPR movie and Turbo: A Power Rangers movie. I think I dropped it around Ninja Storm, as the very last toy from Power Rangers I can remember owning was the Yellow Ranger figure that turned into a lion, I think it was.
All of this nostalgia talk also reminds me of the Power Rangers Time Force game for PS1 I think. I had fun times with that. And there was the Wild Force game for GBA, which I think I still actually have. |
I loved the Lightspeed game growing up, and it's the only one I ever played because well, I slowly grew out of PR and thus didn't care for the games :lol
I remember watching the first episode of power rangers when i was 10. I didn't even know there was a difference with the sentai shows that I watched on french television even though i didnt speak french. (for all you europeans, does 'club dorothee' ring a bell at all? :)
As long as it was multicolored peeps in robos kicking giant rubber suit ass, it was all good. I only learned of the whole power rangers/sentai thing much later Quote:

I was 3 just moved to Portland Dorset uk I did not have any friends. And I was watching the Fox Kids uk channel rerun of season 1 did not know what got me in it but I was hooked I was watching season 3 by then and season 2 but all depended on when the uk got it. I left sort of round wild force I stopped buying the toys then but after that I stopped watching the all togather I watch tip bit of Disney era but not relegiously watching like I did, it must of been I started secondary school the reason but I did watch Dino thunder cause if tommy being my fave ranger might not like how JDF use that to his ego I just love his character tommy. I got back in to power rangers when I learned of super sentai and I watch go-onger as my first season of sentai,so I watched RPM the year after.

The Eyeguy episode. And he's still my favourite MOTW to this day.
Very first episode on it's very first airing. I was a Fox Kid.
I remember they had a preview episode on a Saturday before it premiered. I saw that and was hooked immediately.
i think turbo was my first experience. i can only vaguely remember (would have only been about 2 or 3) it but i thought the blue senturion was awesome when i saw him. my real memory of turbo is a set of pajamas i had that looked like the red ranger suit though lol.

Being a Godzilla, Voltron, and UltraSeven fan when I was a child, I fell in love with MMPR immediately.
My introduction to it was in some magazine where they were showing off the five ranger toys, the four baddies (Goldar, Baboo, Squatt, and King Sphinx), and the Megazord. It said this show was coming to Fox Kids and in Oct a Green Ranger would be showing up. It looked and sounded cool. A few days later, I saw a commercial on Fox for it and screamed, "I WANT TO SEE THAT!!" Then they premiered DotD on a Saturday morning (I believe it was in Aug) and loved it. The next Sat they aired the pudgy Pig episode, which was pretty good to. Then the show went to week days and started over with DotD, but I enjoyed it so much I did not care. And then the green ranger appeared and the show went from being amazing to my favorite show on television at that time and what I wanted the toys from most of all through most of Zeo. By Zeo, I lost the interest in having the big combining mechas since there were 5inch one pieces available for a fraction of the price (and when you are only earning an allowance of $10 a week, price comes into play a lot), but I still loved the show. Unfortunately, Turbo started to lose me, especially with Beast Wars kicking so much ass. PRiS is where I stopped buying the toys as I got sick of having to buy new toys every year (little did I know this would become a thing nowadays for me) as I pretty much stopped getting them just before the Delta Megazord premiered. I also stopped watching the show religiously during LG and have yet to see every episode to every series after. I did try to watch at least the premier episode and the final episodes but there are still series that I have not seen even those to. I have caught a couple episodes of LSR, Time Force and Wild Force, and I think I have seen the ending to those, but I'm not sure. I know I have not seen anything beyond episode 2 to both JF and RPM, and I gave up on MF after 3 episodes and SMF after the first. OH, and I loved even the MMPR movie when I was a kid. In fact, one of my friends acquired a copy recorded from the theater and gave it to me as a present because my parents wouldn't take me to see the movie again and I watched it on a weekly basis despite its horrible video quality. I hated VHS even as a kid because of its terrible video quality, but I did not care when it came to that movie. |

I remember this. I stayed the night at my uncles house and my cousin who is about a year and month younger than me, showed me a VHS tape of something called "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie" which he had gotten form our other cousin who I found out grew up on MMPR through In Space.
We watched the movie that night I think I fell asleep halfway through, and the next night we watched a VHS tape of the Wild Force vol 1. I think it was the first 3 episodes. I loved it. He gave me his Wild Force Megazord missing the shark tail funny enough. I sadly sold it a while back even though it was one of the few toys to survive childhood. After those two nights I dont think I watched any Wild Force as it had just ended, I got in just in time for Ninja Storm to premiere. Watched its first episode on Jetix and watched every one until they quit airing which was around the time my parents had me quit watching, so end of Jungle Fury. Come to think of it, I became a huge Transformers fan because I couldnt be a Power Ranger fan. No wonder I havent cared about TFs much since I came back. :lol |
I was also a fan of Godzilla too when I started watching Power Rangers. I did watch one or two episodes of In Space, Lost Galaxy, LSR, Time Force and Wild Force because I would wait for other shows. I remember In Space would come on like a half hour before Godzilla: The Series and Fox always had Power Rangers air before Digimon.
My first experience with Power Rangers was at the very beginning, with the first episode of MMPR. I had no idea it was adapted from Super Sentai at the time, I was a kid and all I knew was that it had guys in cool suits with combining robot dinosaurs! Needless to say, it quickly became one of my favorite shows.
The preview episode before the premiere of Season One. Watched every season in some form ever since.

I remember the time a lot when they gained their Thunder Zords, but I'm not sure if that was before or after Jason, Trini, and Zack left. Since I remember them more as the original than Adam, Rocky, and Aisha
The special effects in Power Rangers remind me of the special effects in Godzilla movies. As a kid, I had a feeling PR came from Japan. As a kid, I also remember seeing Japanese Sentai toys at local Japanese imported stores. I didn't know the term "Super Sentai" until 2004 when I look up Dino Thunder on the Wikipedia.
My first experience with Power Rangers was when I was three and I saw a few minutes of the Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue episode "The Mighty Mega Battles." I changed the channel because I didn't like it. Which is ironic because nearly two years later, my neighbor gave me a copy of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. Needless to say, I have been a fan of the show ever since.
Somewhere around MMPR season 2, not sure.

The first episode of MMPR. My parents thought I was too old for it, so I never got any toys. Eventually a relative bought me one, but that was after I stopped watching.

I was four when I first saw Day of the Dumpster. Twenty minutes was all I needed to get hooked. :lol
I watched Dino thunder as a kid, and for some odd reason always wanted the drill to grow for the Thundersaurus Megazord so he could fly in with the Dracozord and basically do a Giga Drill Break
Which is why I watched DT and TTGL back to back in 7th grade |
1993. A year when Fox Kids was releasing a bunch of cool new shows and Speed Racer on MTV was a lame excuse to watch Beavis and Butthead.
Watched DT when I was little and it first came out. At the time I was super obsessed with dinosaurs and robot ones that combined made it all the more mind-blowing :lol Don't remember which episode it was though that got me hooked.
Mighty Morphing Power Rangers the Movie was my first experience and it was love at first sight. At the age of 2
