I was just watching an episode of Kamen Rider Black and, I've got to say, its really strange how... important Battle Hopper is. Not only that, but Kotaro actually, ya know, rides his motorcycle from place to place. I wish Kamen Riders still did that. Most shows these days have them ride it around a little bit in the early episodes before almost completely dropping it long before the halfway point. Is driving a motorcycle around really that expensive?

I'm guessing Zolda, solely because his blank form would still have a gun.

...Also, what is it with guns and green riders? Pegasus form, Zolda, Bassha, Birth... I realize there are green riders that don't use guns and gun-slinging riders that aren't green, but it seems to be kind of a thing.

From what I've heard (though take it with a grain of salt because I don't know any sources backing it up) some recent laws have made it harder because the use of modified vehicles is restricted, or something along those lines.

Though it's not as if not using the bike is anything new, so who knows how much that really affects things.

I didn't know that thanks. That really sucks if it were true but, as you said, not using the bike is nothing new for Kamen Rider. I'm kind of surprised that we haven't had another Auto Vajin-like mecha yet. The fact that Auto Vaijin uses a physical suit rather being CGI meant that he could have been used much more often then a mecha normally is. We've had Lazer but that's not exactly the same thing.

By modified does it include cosmetic modifications as well? I just assume those laws are referring to performance modifications cause cosmetic modifications are relatively harmless, no?

Honestly I'd give Hibiki/Ibuki/Todoroki my vote for the best trio.

Do stage shows ever get subbed? Or is the general opinion that they aren't worth bothering with?

Not really. They're just fun shows to sit around and watch. It's a live stage show, so action is a lot lacking (Punches will be miles off, sword attacks are slow to avoid breaking the prop, and dynamic action is slow so make sure everything goes to plan), the stunts aren't too neat (You might get a flip or two. Very little wirework is used), and special effects are nonexistent (Smoke machines and maybe one or two sparks used for very special moments).
They also don't tend to be filmed for wide distribution, from what I've seen. Most of the ones I've come across are just someone in the audience filming it, but don't quote me on that one.

They're not generally worth watching unless you just can't get enough of [Insert Rider or Sentai].

Just watched the first episode of Kamen Rider Snipe Episode Zero. It was interesting. Shame it was only 10 minutes.

Really? Nobody even mentioned the Drive trio? I enjoyed the dynamic of their team quite a bit, although maybe Spinning Wheel as an insert might have glorified that union more than I remember.

That said, the Hibiki team is great. Probably my favorite as well.

That reminds me, was anyone else aware that there was a Ghost Valentine's day stage show... with Kamen Rider Blade and Chalice as main characters?

Not really. It happens enough in the show that you just get used to it.

Still... it's like, of all the suits to actually have the actors going around in without the helmets on, why these? I mean, Hibiki is one of the more organic riders and the henshin doesn't even remotely hint at it being anything than a full body transformation.

It's just weird to me on an aesthetic level.
