For anybody who watches episodes raw before they watch it subbed: what's it like? I'm going to Japan and watch to catch a live episode while I'm there, but I'm kind of afraid it'll be like spoiling the episode since I won't understand most of what they're saying. Thoughts?

I've watched an episode here and there raw. It's kinda odd. Being as I only speak a select few words and phrases, it's mostly just putting the emotions into the forefront and guessing.

The shows are generally straightforward enough that you can figure out what's going on by just observing the action and body language, but you definitely miss out on a lot of the more specific details. It's not how I would watch the shows in order to really understand what's going on - especially with a show as complex as Ex-Aid has become - but you likely won't be completely lost.

I would like to, but...

...Ex-Aid has become pretty complex, and it's a show I'm genuinely enjoying the writing for. I have absolutely no problems with watching Kyuranger raw because I feel like I won't miss out on anything terribly important, but Ex-Aid might be weird. I mean...I definitely am going to watch it, I'm just trying to brace myself.

Which psuedo rider is the best?
By psuedo I mean those who look like riders and have key elements of a Kamen rider such as transformations but are not designated one.
Examples would be Shadow Moon, Ride Players, Riotroopers, Alternative, and Gold Drive.

I'd say Gold Drive, black and gold is such a good color scheme, and Banno was a joy to watch.

I'd go with Alternative... *isn't biased by the fact that he ended up being Alternative in the Rider war, no, not at all*

But in reality, I guess my favorite "Pseudo rider" would probably be Go-Gadoru-Ba.

I thought Gold Drive was officially recognized as a Kamen Rider and I know for sure Another Agito is definitely a Rider, since he was recognized as one in the Gorider special.

What would we consider a Pseudo-Rider though? Is it based off of design aesthetics that are Rider-like? Because I'd definitely consider Heart one conceptually even if he doesn't really look like a Rider (you know, ignoring that he actually became a Rider in a V-Cinema).

IXA / Rising. Kiva is a terrible show, sure but, on a conceptual level, IXA is pretty awesome. And way more of a Rider than Kiva!

Everybody is asking what a pseudo-rider is, this. This right here. The Ganma that could henshin via Eyecons and other means. Those are your pseudo-riders.

Tackle. Shadow Moon has one of the best suit designs ever, but Tackle was far better as a character.

For somebody who's never seen Stronger, how was she as a fighter? She was pretty cool in the Decade Movie, both as a character and as a fighter, but I don't really know all that much about her original appearance.

Oh, she sucked as a fighter. She had one special move that was basically just her waving her arms and the mooks would jump back like they'd been hit with something. She spent most of her time tied up on things next to Tachibana Tobei. The only time she actually defeated a monster herself was by using a powerful technique that killed her in the process. She was a really good character, though, and her last episode is really moving.

Ah, thanks for the quick run down. I had heard she was a terrible fighter but its nice to hear that her character made up for that.

Out of the little that I've seen, I'm gonna have to go with Machine Chaser

He had a cool design, but I feel like all he really ever did was pad out episodes to justify stretching thin plots into two-parters.

So, a question after watching the lastest Ex-Aid: Cronus's Pause vs. Hyper Clock-Up?

I mean, at times, but I really like those roles where they show up to antagonize the MC before eventually switching sides, and out of all the shows I've seen that's the only one that isn't a Rider, so...

Yes, it's possibly the most stupidly overpowered ability in all of Kamen Rider.

And now we wait about 4 weeks to see if Ex-Aid ends up taking that spot

It'll be interesting to see how Ex-Aid stacks up to other, non-Ex-Aid riders by the end of the show. While Ex-Aid certainly has impressive stats, almost all of his special abilities are only really effective against bugsters or other Gashat using riders, meaning he'd have to rely almost entirely on raw stats compared to Riders like Kabuto, who have both high stats and a ridiculously overpower ability. It gets even more complicated when you begin to consider Wizard and Ghost who, while also mainly relying on high stats rather then a unique ability, pretty much have no limit to how much power they can obtain.

You haven't seen the official stats of Ex-Aid Riders. Kuuga's got some of the highest stats in the series, Ex-Aid's Maximum Gamer form RIVALS those stats, and the newest Rider outright BEATS them. Talk about level creep

It has been a while since I've seen those stats. Maybe raw stats is all he'll need unless he's going up against somebody like, again, Kabuto.

If what I’ve read is anything to by, Tackle’s special attack was created because the actress had asthma and this prevented her from performing too many stunts. I think she was also the character’s “in-suit” performer as well.

Tackle didn't have a traditional Rider helmet but rather something similar to Riderman or Shocker Grunts iirc, so she did end up having to be the suit actor
