Did Kabuto had a cast reunion?

I dont think they ever had a public one come to think of it.

We might get lucky if Kagami appear as a guest in the next Horrible Taisei because he seems to be very happy when he promote the zecter 2 years ago and usually the not so famous actors that are still working in the spotlight would still film toku. Not all of them are hardcore toku fans beforehand and some reveal they dislike the laborious working hours and low salary. They're usually male/female idols that audition for the roles and use it as a stepping stone for something bigger. Also, Hiyori's actress retired like Hana from Den-o because of illness. There are rumors circulating there are other reasons because there are a lot of negative side of the entertainment industry. So a return is pretty much unlikely for Kabuto and den-o unless it's just the imagins. Besides, Tendou's actor is too famous and pretty much move on from kids show like Kuuga's actor. Den-O's actor is a pretty prominent movie star too now. We only get hurricanger and Dekaranger returns because most of the actors hasn't left the spotlight yet and we get actress like Hurricaneblue that's toku veteran in a lot of series to help unite the cast. For riders, we might get retcon storyline like with 555 and Blade when a few of their actor return for a special or movie. Even Gaim didn't return despite he's a toku fan and love his role. I don't know if it's schedule conflict or toei is being cheap.

Is Ex-Aid ending at just 45 episodes? If so thats just sad how short it will come to an end.

Gaim got lesser episodes if you remove the movie tie in filler for Taisen, soccer, and kikaider. Wizard got 53 episodes and is horribly draggy. I guess they want a fresh start for Build new time slot. I don't think the ratings matters if the toys sells well. Btw Dragonball Super gets critically slam for the fillers and fan service. Also, the new rebooted PR movie underperform in box office, but toys and DVDs sales allow them to make a sequel.

Well depite Ex-Aid has 45 episode, I think Ex-Aid is more focused to main plot and lesser filler episodes.

I has feeling Build will be like W and Drive storyline in two episodes format.....

I know Kamen Rider shows nowadays is also about promoting lots of their new toys and its not like the shows arent interesting but who else other than me wish there are more recurring characters or more variety in enemies and not the rider forms?

Sometimes I feel some of the upgrades are redundant. Like the Ex-Aid riders can overpower enemies with energy items, Drive has so many shift cars to utilize, Fourze has 30+ switches minus his form changes.

I love it when they don;t keep reusing the enemies of the week. Like Orphenochs, Undeads, Imagins, Fangires etc.

Okay quick question. New the Kamen Rider scene and wanted to see if you all agreed with something.

I was told by one person that I should see Kabuto first and then W to get into Kamen Rider. While a YT video suggested for newcomers to see Decade first and follow it with Black for it's darker tone.

Which one do you guys agree more with. Or disagree for that matter =P.

Watch Kamen Rider W first. Then watch Kabuto.

It depends, but here's my opinion on those shows
Decade- Not a good show, characters aren't likeable, story's forgettable and gets all the Riders wrong
Black-I haven't seen it because whenever Black uses a finishing move, the screen flickers a lot which really hurts my eyes
Kabuto-Good characters and visually one of the best, though the story's kind of ass and the main character can be somewhat unlikeable
W- Perfect show. Great characters and a perfect mix between action, comedy, story and character development

Kabuto is a fun show with a lot less cgi than the neo-Heisei era that started with W. It depends if you want to watch something newer and closer in tone to the rider series of the recent years. Black is an amazing classic and it's a lot easier to get in to than the original 1970s series. The actor even came back twice to reprise his iconic role in Decade and Drive.

If you want to get into Rider there's only one right thing to do: Start wherever you want. It absolutely doesn't matter where you begin, unless it is a straight-up sequel show like Black RX, in that case, you do better watch Black first.

Other than that? Watch what you want. Some people might say don't watch Decade first because it features all the other Heisei-era Riders (but it doesn't matter, they're different from their original selfs anyways) or that you should start with the first show, Kuuga or W to get an idea what Rider is about but I say: Screw that.

Look at the suits and gimmicks, read a short summary of what the show you're interested in is roughly about, decide on what you think will entertain you the most and watch it. After that, you have a much better idea of what you can watch next because then we can tell you which shows are similar or what you might like based on what you enjoyed about your first show.

And after that, you have a good idea about what you like about Rider and can pick anything else yourself.

There is no perfect show to start, you could hate shows most of the fandom like and the other way around, thus it is pointless to tell you what you should start with.

I started with a show which was very different from the norm and immediatley watched what consider most to be one of the worst Rider-series in existence, yet I still watched a lot more and love it.

While you're not wrong, I do recommend on asking for recommendations and the reasons behind them so that you know why those particular seasons are so beloved

Yeah, I don't think it is bad to get some recommendations first to at least steer you away from some of the more controversial seasons to start. I nearly watched Hibiki first, which frankly would have been a disaster!

It doesn't hurt to ask what we think about a certain show when you want to watch it, but I so tired of people going around like "Watch this first, you have to in order to get what Rider is about" when someone wants to get into Kamen Rider. That's just so stupid.

So I'd say make a list of stuff that could interest you the most and then ask what people think about it. But even then you're asking strangers and you have no idea how well their preferences line up with yours, it's not like we're critics with a track record or anything.

That's why I say try it yourself first. If that really stinks you can still ask if you got a lemon or if you just don't like what Rider does in general.

I'm a Drive fanboy so I will always suggest watching Kamen Rider Drive as a go to. It slightly differs due to Drive not having your usual bike and instead uses a car, which in itself is pretty badass. It starts off pretty high for the first like 5 episodes, but slows down until it hits the 15-20, and picks itself back up going forward with a nice constant pace.

I'm always happy to steer people towards Fourze.

It's a goofy, fun show with a loveable cast with no real high stakes until the very end, and even then it ends on an unambiguously positive note, unlike most others. Yeah, it's different from everything else, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Plus it gave us Space Bruce Lee and the funkiest belt yet.

And it gave us Giant Step which is a great track. :rock:

So this whole conversation resolved itself before I could do my usual two cents on Rider recommendations...

Well, the "ideal" plan Fish Sandwich is to get me hooked onto one series so that I may watch all the others. Hopefully both past and present. And those were just the two via in person and the Net mentioned of starting off with. That's the goal anyways =P

That's a good way to look at it, if you want to go with W then do it, I think it's a fun show and an excellent gateway drug into the post-Decade Heisei series.

I saw a similar topic on Reddit but just curious: which Rider actors can speak English? I know Tendou and Leo's actors all speak fluently. Shin Dan Kuroto took me by surprise though.

Jabel's actor Sotaro is from California according to his profile and I did hear him speak English very briefly but fluently in some drama a while back.

Where does the Game Master speak English? I need to hear this.

She's known more for Sentai than Rider, but Nao Nagasawa has at least a basic understanding of English.

The leap from model to actor isn't that big tbh but yeah the whole pharmacist thing is pretty nuts.

which rider do you think live in the same world? in heisei generation, we could see that rider from wizard to until exaid come battle together and this movies consider as canon. does that mean W until exaid also live in the same world?

Your English isn't that bad actually!
Toei wants us to believe that's the case, though it doesn't make sense as otherwise all Riders would help out in every series unless something happened to them. Hell, they didn't let Drive make an early debut in a Gaim movie because it wouldn't make sense for Drive's story iirc

My assumption is that, after Decade, all the Rider shows are considered to be in the same world.

I like to see EVERYTHING as being in the same world. Poor Japan and its yearly new threat to deal with. I kind of like to imagine that every time a new season finished all the Riders get to join the Rider Club officially, where all Riders stand around drinking punch and gossiping about current events. Tendou does the catering.
