I'm thinking I should finally watch Kiva sometime soon, but am a little bit confused. I see the subs thread here lists TVN and Order of Zeronos as the subbers for the show. How are the OoZ subs and are they available for download anywhere? Furthermore, I see that someone called Railler did some episodes of Kiva. Are they finished and if so where can they be downloaded? I'm not against doing the TVN subs for this one since it is more modern, but I would just like to know my options!

Not sure about this Railler guy, never heard of them, but Order of Zeronos was pretty similar to TVN. It wasn't like what you get with O-T's localized translation vs. TVN's literal translation with flashy graphics. OoZ was also pretty literal with flashy graphics. I have no idea if their subs are even online anymore, following the loss of Megaupload and nyaa. TVN is probably the only way to really go with Kiva.

Or you could save yourself some brain cells and not watch Kiva.

(Also I am getting frighteningly close to running out of KR shows. Kiva, Ghost, Decade, and Amazons are the only remaining Heisei shows I have left, and I'm making good Showa progress.)

What do you mean, "survived" Hibiki? That's one of the best shows they ever made! It was short but sweet. Ending it 29 episodes in may seem a little cruel, but I figure that's better than if they had just kept it going and risk it losing its spark. ;)

Real talk, though? I think Kiva is pretty terrible, and I'll defend anything. Your best hope is that people play up its terribleness so much that it can't possibly live up to the hype, and I know from when barnstenchfartface watched it a while back and posted about it that there's a good chance that won't work anyway. I'm not saying be scared, but... maybe don't be NOT scared?

Guys, I have been deliberately putting off watching this show because everything about it terrifies me. I'm plenty scared already, being told it may be worse than that is quite possibly the most horrifying thing I have ever heard. Then again, I like Faiz, so the scariest thing is I might actually like Kiva.

But I'd watch Kiva 10 times over before I'd watch Decade again.
And I've watched Decade twice.

The best thing I can say about Kiva is that it has some good and interesting ideas, it just did a terrible job of executing them.

Kiva has a great design, but the show was really bad in my opinion. I found the drama boring and the story to be very weak. Even the action was pretty boring to sit through for me. Before Drive, Kiva was the first Rider show that I dropped.

So besides the 2nd chapter of the W manga being out, the first chapter of the Kuuga manga has finally been translated.

Nago-san when he is fired and and Wataru possessed by his dad was awesome though.

Does anyone here have a girlfriend or boyfriend that likes Kamen Rider and other Toku shows? If they don't, do they find them acceptable because a lot of people will judge others if they like something that is odd to them?

I don't have a significant over, but I can tell you my experience with friends that are also nerds, geeks, or anime lover/watches. And the comment I tend to get back is the usually "So like power rangers?", I try to break the ice, by saying it's not like it at all. I start by explaining that power rangers original source material is Super Sentai, and the people who makes Super Sentai also makes Kamen Rider, and I explain them the difference between the two. With all that said, some might have some interest others are just like "Meh, lame". I have two good friends that I convinced to watch Kamen Rider, and they're excited to but I've been lazy due to giving them the files. One of them wants to watch Gaim due to how the suit looks, the other was really intrigued by Ex-Aids designs.

I think with any other hobbies it takes time to break the ice, and let people know it's different and what you enjoyed. My parents knows I like and accept Kamen Rider and Power rangers are two different things, my brothers they know about it due to me watching it, but does not go anywhere near it. At first I was made fun of it for liking KR a lot, but eventually it just grew on everyone around me, and now they think it's the norm if I bring up Kamen Rider.

Both my partners are actually really into the show too, my friends? Eh it's a mixed bag. Some think it's cool, others think it's all kinda silly. I don't let it get to me, really.

Most of my friends are into anime, but they don't care about live action shows. They are fine with me liking Kamen Rider (However I do have one friend that gives me shit about liking stuff like Devilman).

How likely is it for the S.I.C line to try adapting Ex-Aid?

Quite likely, the tone of the show is not as childish as Fourze was which is to the best of my knowledge the reason why they skipped it, adult collectors didn't care much for Fourze apparently.

Probably next year-ish? I am curious how they will go by it cause the sculptors have a very organic aesthetic look to their work to the point where even the most mechanical rider will look organic.

What if we has Kamen Rider Series as big anniversary in the future just like Gokaiger from Super Sentai? It will be really interesting too if some episode are tributes to past Rider series and previous Rider actors appeared in tribute episode.

At one point I’d have said it would be too hard to get the previous actors back, but Toei has done a good job of getting people to come back over the last few years. There would probably still be some actors like Joe Odagiri, Takeru Satoh, or Hiroshi Mizushima that wouldn’t want to come back, but I think an anniversary show like that could probably get a decent amount of veteran Riders at this point.

It wouldn't necessarily have to be the lead riders, seeing as we got Ibuki and Zanki in Decade portrayed by their respective actors and even Ixa's actor showed up in the Wizard and Gaim movie. In the case of Den-O, I could see Takuya Mizoguchi taking over the role.

The only one that could pose a problem is Stronger, since all the protagonist actors are no longer with us.

Would anyone like to see a American Kamen Rider comic book series? They could do their own original American Kamen Rider if IDW or Boom Studios gets the rights to it.
