Is KR franchise sell more than Sentai franchise ?

Sentai is going to get cancelled if Ryusoulger fails and LvP hit an all time low in toy sales. So for now, yes

To people who've seen Faiz did Keitaro's(Takumi's friend) and Yuka's(Crane Orpnoch) names ever come up at all before the "reveal" near the end of series?

You mean to each other or just in general? Because most, I think pretty much literally every character but Yuka just called Keitaro Keitaro. I don't think Yuka's name was as widely used but several characters did, it certainly wasn't a secret, the story just contrived itself so they never heard any of the many other characters call them that until the 40s.

People have been saying that for years and it hasn't happened yet. The last time Super Sentai was almost canceled was back in the early 90s. Same with Kamen Rider since we almost had the series ended again back with Ryuki and Blade.

Speaking of Faiz, I'm wondering why who wrote it is such a big fan of the " This character has ties to This character" thing and never resolves it untill the last episode? It was the same way with Agito and that made the show drag on fucking long for me.

I'm assuming it's something that's common in J-Dramas, which Inoue seems to be a big fan of.


Although with Agito, it made sense since everybody except for Hikawa was trying to hide their identity. Not as silly as Yuka and Keitaro never sharing their given name which would have revealed who the other was. Granted, that could just be a thing in Japan.

Usually I'd agree but a 4chan post claimed that, called the special that's going to air in between LvP and Ryusoulger, managed to perfectly describe a weapon Zi-O will get later which got confirmed after scans and leaked a part of the Cross-Z V Cinema trailer which hadn't yet gone up

The reveal of Shinji coming back for Zi-O reminded me that back when I watched Ryuki, I had a few questions that never seemed to get answered. Wondering if there were explained and I missed it, or if Kobayashi just never got around to actually explaining some of the show's biggest mysteries. How did Yui and Shiro's drawings create the mirror world, or did it already exist and their drawings just influenced it? How was Shiro able to survive in the mirror world without a suit? Where were the other three of the thirteen Riders in the final time loop, the one of the TV show, or was the fact that the battle was supposed to have thirteen Riders not actually mentioned in the show? How was handing out all the desks and having the Riders kill each other actually going to result in a wish being granted? If it was a function of the mirror world, why couldn't Shiro control it the same way he could control mirror monsters? And lastly, though this one isn't Kobayashi's fault but the fault of later crossover writers, and therefore probably doesn't have an official answer, (though it's possible one will be given in Zi-O) How has Ryuki and other Ryuki Rider's appeared in later movies, as with the mirror monsters no longer existent and the mirror world closed to all but Yui and Shiro, the source of their powers should no longer exist. Definitely curious to see if people have answers to any of these, or if maybe my favorite phase 1 series has more plot holes than I initially realized

Less gimmicky ones as well. Making a show to sell toys is fine if they don't make it annoying. Kids shows like Dragon Ball Super are made to promote kids merchandise like trading cards, but it is not as toy driven as the 2010s Kamen Rider shows are. I love this decade Kamen Rider shows, but even I cringe at the toys being promoted in your face at times.

I'd like to see a KR based on inazuma eleven.

The thing is, with trading cards, it's easy. Every new character can be 2-3 new cards, giving an incentive to go out and buy more packs, as well, new forms for older characters.

For something like KR, it's more difficult, since a new character means a new belt. And if parents aren't willing to shill out the extra money for a whole new belt, it makes it seem like it's not selling well. So collectable gimmicks are kind of the easiest way to make a profit without charging a lot of money. And it's hard not to be intrusive with those. They've done it before (OOO's medals were handled the best), but it doesn't stop it from being difficult.

Honestly I don't mind the gimicky aspect, but honestly they gotta stop making so many forms for the Riders to the point it basically becomes an episode-exclusive forms. We don't even know if Zi-O will utilize all the Rider Armors but with Zi-O II coming it's pretty slim.

Wizard and Drive handled it the best imo, you have few forms but other collectible devices are used for attacks. That way they can still sell buttloads of collectibles but have the Riders be more balanced.

Both of those series had lower sales than the other recent series though. Tying the collectibles to just a weapon or minor gimmick rather than a form seems to reduce their perceived value even if that doesn't change the collectible toy itself.

People have been commenting on the reused locations for years. Still, worst case scenario, I think we'd just go back to something like Black RX, where the characters were almost always randomly thrown into the quarry once a battle started.

It's actually kinda fun once you realize it. I started making a bingo card of common filming locations several years ago.

So what's the general consensus on Build? I get the vibe that it was seen as one of the better entries, which is impressive considering it had some large shoes to fill (Ex-Aid)

It's a really good show. A lot of people seem to rank it as being about on par with Ex-Aid (I didn't like it as much, personally, but that says more about how much I love Ex-Aid than on Build itself).

Has anyone did a drinking game when it comes to reusing location in Kamen Rider?

I'm sure somebody has.

Though I've only watched six Rider series so far, and therefore don't have a ton to base the opinion off, it's phase two series, and very close to being my favorite overall, just barely outranked by Ryuki.

My opinion? It’s the best Phase II Rider series. It has too much going on its favor, characters, story, action, visuals – all of it excellent and easily surpassing the efforts of its predecessors.

It’s not my favorite show, 'cause Gaim, and you could make points for how other shows did some things better, but as a whole Build is objectively the best Rider show of this generation. Maybe even the best ever.

I've been watching toy reviews of Zi-O and I know that you can put ridewatches in upside down and they have Armor and Rider times for I think almost all the watches. Haven't wstched the show though.

But has anyone in the show put a watch in upside down? (And I don't mean like a mistake, I mean a deliberate decision.)

Would totally have been cool moment even if they did it just once. Like a previous Rider obtaining a Ziku Driver and putting their Ridewatch in upside on the left to be able to transform again.

I am always a big fan of oddball combination forms in Rider shows. Like Gamer Driver Cronus.

I don't buy that. Kotaro could swap back and forth between RX, Roborider, and Biorider, but he couldn't go back to being Black again after the Kingstone split. Hell, Toei spent most of the 2010s treating Black and Black RX as separate characters.

That's because more people liked Black over RX, so they didn't want to wall themselves off the character by making it so Kotaro can't become Black anymore :lol

Also, thanks to ONORE, they can get away with alternate universe shenanigans with no question now.

One of the Rider crossover movies did the Black/RX thing right: the Rider 3 one with the Nazi Youth Go-Kart Team. They actually did the thing where Black got defeated then came back as Black RX. But there was also the Showa vs. Heisei movie where they just showed up together with no apparent explanation.

I'd like to see a KR made by nanotechnology.

Been watching Kamen Rider for about 10 years now and there are a few seasons I've missed/not finished. Those seasons are:

Kuuga
Agito
Blade
Hibiki
Fourze
Drive
Ghost
Ex-Aid

I'm looking back and now wondering if I have missed much. Can anyone highly recommend any these shows and if so, which I should watch first? Or have I not really missed much by not watching these shows all the way through?
