A bit shame, I want a Kamen Rider Decade spinoff, possibly showing a new Complete Form. But Masahiro Inoue said he won't reprise Decade's role for a long while, so it's not gonna happen either. |
I really wanted to see more of Quiz and Kikai. And much as it pains me to say this since I love Kikai a lot, especially Quiz; since we never found out what his 'series' was about.
|
I'd like to see a supersoldier/captain america-like KR but without the american ideology of course.
|
I still wondering why in recent years Toei really love to revive characters in Kamen Riders?
I actually really dislike revive characters in Kamen Riders especially in Ex-Aid and Build. Hmm...I personally prefer if the deceased Riders are returns as ghost if they are fight again. Compared to Super Sentai, we have some of deceased Rangers. I really love some of deceased Rangers are returns as ghost in Gokaiger. |
Hmm..I will discuss about Monster of The Week
One of best elements from Kamen Rider is Monster of The Week (MOTW). I usually really excited to see various Monster of The Week. Hmm...but some of Kamen Rider series like Gaim and Build are didn't have a new Monster of The Week because both series are more focused to main plots. I really love Gaim and Build story but I feel the episode without new Monster of The Week is quite "empty" to me so Kamen Rider episodes without a new Monster of The Week is like birthday cake without strawberry in my opinion. I personally perfer without new Monster of The Week if the series are already reaching to episode 40. I hope Zero-One will be have a lot of Monster of The Week without leaving primary plot. |
I thought about how very few or rather, no Henshin belts have female voices. Some trinkets like the Tokimeki Crisis Gashat sure, but belts?
I kinda want to see one. And I think the Zaia ThousanDriver, or another new belt from Zero-One, would be perfect for this. Considering how many companies use female voices in their personal assistant systems (Siri, Alexa) and how many big commercials are done with women advertising the product, wouldn’t it make sense for a driver from this show to have a female voice? And since the Zero-One Driver has a male voice it would make for a nice contrast. On the other hand, the Zaia Driver also uses Zetsumerize and Progrise Keys who all have male voices, so that could be weird. |
The Alternatives from Ryuki had thier card readers be female voices.
|
From 20 years of Rider, the only ones I can come up with are:
Alternative Visors Kiva-la, I guess Tokimeki Crisis Quiz's belt If nothing else, it would bring variety. |
Hey, gang. Quick question for those of you who've watched Agito.
I'm pulling together episodes to start a watch-thru of it, but I've got two different subs to choose from: TV-Nihon or GomenRider. I don't want to start watching one version only to find out it's the bad one, so I'm hoping y'all can give me your opinion. Which is the better/more accurate/less horrifying set of subs for Masked Rider Agito? Thanks in advance for your feedback! |
Quote:
GomenRider's subs were what I went with when I watched Agito, and while, as a "scrub", the way everything is written sounds very natural and good, the actual dialogue is occasionally totally incorrect to what was said, in some really ugly ways. I went and took a look at TV-N's versions and skimmed through all the mistakes I saw GomenRider make, and TV-N actually got most of it right, to their credit, with the trade-off being worse video quality and some wooden wording. Granted, this is only based on half a dozen episodes, but a lot of early Heisei shows don't have particularly great sets of subs, and it seems like Agito is very much part of that. |
Yeah; thats a real big issue with kamen rider and super sentai I have found; the only group that subs most things is TV-Nihon and they are pretty terrible; I wish they would just go away and let a group that actually can sub things properly take over, since we really need a less moronic group to cover kamen rider. Genmcorp is REALLY good though; I hope they continue to grow.

Now that I'm done griping (probably only briefly!), thanks for the two-cents on this. You're good people! |
The first time I saw Rider was CW's Masked Rider Dragon Knight (As Saban would have called it).
I actually liked it but missed the last 4 or so. That said it was my first time for any Rider series which somebody in the states should have adapted this line. Dragon Knight had proven that it could be strong for the US market. Too bad nobody picked this up. |
Hey so a lot of Over-Times subs are lost right? Or was there a back up somewhere?

Typically if a show is already subbed; people tend to just sub something else; and if the biggest subber suddenly vanished; SOMEONE would take their place. Hopefully a group that can actually do their job
|
Generally I don't have much of a preference when it comes to subs as long as it's good quality video, I remember checking out a different group's version of the Kamen Rider Decade episode with the dark riders in 2009 but that's about it.
|
I really really wish Kiva was a great show; it had so much potential and they just threw it all away, especially the base suit; It really fustrates me that we never got the true kiva rather than the one we ended up with.
|
TV-Nihon > most other sub groups.

A new article posits the possibility of Kamen Rider being officially available in the West!
http://ukiyaseed.weebly.com/ukiyasee...h-america-soon Evidence in question is predicated largely on a Twitter response from a Toei Executive and Kamen Rider Producer in addition to Team Rider of Bluefin Brands being seen near SHOUT! Factory. The idea of the Riders returning to the West is one thing, but the idea of SHOUT! having them doesn't amuse me! SHOUT! was overly slow and simplistic with Sentai Series and didn't have enough in a set (such as corresponding Movies) to entice anyone. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad someone did something, but Mill Creek has shown themselves to be far more involved and dedicated with Ultraman than SHOUT! was with Sentai. Ultraman Movies and Side Specials are getting their own individualized releases! On top of that, I personally believe that the Riders could work again as an adaptation and that Hasbro should weave it into Power Rangers (like Saban originally did) and give Hasbro another property in which to create the big multiverse of properties which could give DC and Marvel/MCU a run for their money! |
Dear god no, keep kamen rider its own thing FAR away from the degenerate garbage that is power rangers. Keep it how it is and if you do bring it to the west, CHANGE NOTHING. America cannot be trusted to competently do this; they WILL butcher and dumb it down and remove everything unique and interesting about it just to squeeze a few extra bucks.
Seriously, I want kamen rider avaliable in the west, but I don't want americas greedy paws on it because they WILL screw it up. |

I’m in two minds over an adaption.
On one hand... Yeah, wholeheartedly agree with what’s just been said. As a franchise, power rangers for the most part is kind of depressing. On the other hand. No matter how bad it is I don’t have to care or watch, and instead I can walk into a shop and buy a decent figure of ghost or zero one or whoever for £10. |
I mean I would love it if they imported the show by subbing...... Or dubs (if it's good, dubs can be good too, though a live action good dub is rare), but part of the reason why Kamen Rider is such a niche franchise is because people will see it as Power Rangers, and Power Rangers had a reputation for being a joke.
But yeah a legit Kamen Rider blu-ray would be a blast to own, especially with official english subs. Even though I live in Malaysia and they do sell KR DVDs here, it always felt like a chinese-licensed product instead of a legit one. |
Just as an aside; if you like power rangers; thats okay. We are all different people with different tastes. There is nothing wrong with that. Just like there is nothing wrong with fish sandwich enjoying ghost. Like what you like my friends.
and hasbro, if you are reading this; I live within driving distance of your headquarters, you touch kamen rider and there will be problems. I will personally sneak into your building and rig speakers throughout the ventilation systems to just blast ONORE DECADO over and over at max volume. |
I don't recall Shout Factory ever doing adaptations of their own, so if they are involved, it's likely just subs they'd be doing, which I'd be fine with.
In the event that there ARE more American KR adaptations, it's really only a good thing in the long run. Like, yeah, I didn't like either Masked Rider nor Dragon Knight, but here's the thing. I never would've known Kamen Rider even existed if not for those shows, just like how 99% of us would never have known that Super Sentai was a thing without Power Rangers. So if nothing else, more US KR stuff will only increase awareness of the show, as well as the medium in general. And if you guys want this stuff to keep going, then treating the brand like some exclusive cool-kids-club isn't going to help anything. |

I apologise if you thought I was serious about that. I don't know if you noticed, but I threatened to play a silly clip on repeat through the vent systems of their headquarters. That seems like a rather poor choice when I am commiting multiple felonies and looking at years of jail time. If they do acquire kamen rider; I will be upset but will do what 99% of the world does: complain on the internet. Have a fun day!

How was Zi-O and how is Zero-One so far? I honestly haven't watched Kamen Rider since Ex-Aid. I've heard good things about Build, but I don't know about anything after that.
|
Zi-O alright I feel like people kind of give it either too much praise or way too much hate.
Zero-One pretty good altough lately it been kind of slow with it pacing and plot progression imo. |
Zi-O for me is definitely in that category of "overall liked, but there was at least one major problem that's difficult to ignore". Decade and Wizard are also like that for me.
Still, despite major problems; like I said I still overall enjoyed it. Almost the entire core cast was likeable and the anniversary stuff was extremely exciting; seeing who comes back this week. Maybe that's a little superficial, but fuck me; they got Aqua and Eternal back! They're doing something with Kiriya! The friggin' Hopper Bros! I can't not like all of this |
Yeah, Zero-One has been overall great so far, and I'd agree that Zi-O is a show that definitely has some problems, but also add that the stuff it did right, it did very right. I don't think you can go too wrong with either, but I think Zero-One will be more immediately enjoyable.
|
I haven't seen all of the older shows, so I've been kind of putting off Zi-O (and Decade, for that matter). But I really like Zero One's suit design and I miss being up-to-date on rider. I was hoping it would be good.

Zi-O is just bad. Not offensively so as some tribute episodes are really good but the overall show is rather weak. There are some aspects of this show that I like in concept but don’t work at all or that could’ve been better. So Zi-O is only worth giving a shot if you're in for the appearances of the other Riders and their stories IMO.
Zero-One though? Really fun. I don’t know if I can call it "good" with confidence just yet, but I haven’t been bored by it once so I highly recommend checking it out. |
I was plannig on watching Zi-o because I heard it got better at some points. I think I might skip it instead and maybe rewatch drive or OOOs which I didn't really enjoy, but followed through to the end
