According to a generally more helpful wiki with information about Kamen Rider, Ghost's Hyper Battle Videos were released on:
- November 28, 2015 for the first half of the Ikkyu thing - December 26, 2015 for the second - October 1, 2016 for the surprisingly awesome post-series one. (I think technically those dates for the last two are just for the issues of Televi-Kun you would have to like, mail a form in for from there or something, but you probably shouldn't sweat it that much.) |
I heard that Ghost suffered from executive meddling, but can someone point out exactly what are those meddlings? Other than budget issues (I think) since apparently they had to divide between Ghost and Amazons.

Yah, despite years of asking "So what kind of executive meddling?", no-one can ever provide me anything concrete. I'm even doubtful of the so-called budget issues - why would Toei split money from their big seasonal Rider show to their experimental Amazon Prime to the detriment of the one they were expecting to make money from? It's like saying Kabuto must have has budget issues because they were throwing money at Kamen Rider The First.
I think people like to say "Well Ghost had people messing with it, that's why it's bad!" as a kind of proof they can hold up and act like that factaully makes it worse than other Rider series, rather than it being a show they didn't like because it was just some natural writing element they didn't vibe with. And there's nothing wrong with liking or not liking Ghost, (inb4 this board's resident Ghost supporter comes up and kills me, giving me 99 days to find the 15 Eyecons to come back to life), but just admit you don't like Ghost because of the choices it made, not because of some imaginary version that might have existed if not for that evil Toei. |
Only thing set in stone was that Fukuda left in the middle of Ghost's run, right?
|
That being said... You can just as well say that all Rider seasons, especially as of late, suffer from executive meddling, what with the ever-growing deluge of merchandise introduced into the shows.
|
If anything I think late-game executive meddling started with Ex-Aid, from just how much we know of things being changed late in development (Humagears were never meant to be a big part of Zero-One after the first arc, Woz was meant to be Zi-O's final boss, Kuroto and Kiriya came back due to high popularity), and how, like, none of Ex-Aid's lategame decisions match up with what was established early on. The only things I can recall happening to that extent before are Ankh not being OOO's final boss, and of course everything that happened with Hibiki.
Ghost, though? Not a trace. In particular that thing about "budget was moved to Amazons" is I think something that was stated as true... for the Figuarts, nothing to do with the show. |
It wouldn't surprise me if there was some degree of the writer changing bits of the plot as audience reception happens throughout the entire series (I rememebr seeing someone comment that Skyrider was effectively retrofitted into an anniversary celebration halfway through), but everyone always acts like Ghost's entire plot was derailed becaus... reasons? Like, don't get me wrong, there are certainly places in Ghost's plot where you can scratch your head and ask 'Why?', but nowhere do I feel like it was because some higher up at Toei wrenched control from them and told them they had to include something.

Actually I have something to say about Ghost. Since Episode 39 of the show in the credits they list something called "chief producer" that was never thing prior to Ghost but ever since this episode all Kamen Rider shows have this position.

That producer found their infinite potential and it was worth giving a new title!
|
It looks like they've just renamed the guy working at TV Asahi, but still, interesting.

Releasing THIS for those in the Toei Tokusatsu Fanclub to buy: https://i0.wp.com/tokusatsunetwork.c...pg?w=600&ssl=1 (Source: https://tokusatsunetwork.com/2016/12...r-new-t-shirt/) As well as making a tweet saying: “なんできりやすぐ死んでしまうん” / “Why does Kiriya die so soon” Which is a reference to a line from Grave of the Fireflies. Obviously the tweet was then deleted and Toei apologized for it (Source: https://tokusatsunetwork.com/2016/12...-ex-aid-tweet/) |
Oh my god.
That's so bad, but I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. |

Imo, Ryuki could had been another KR using mythical animals/monsters through cards like a Pokemon.
|
They never did show the fabled "Presenter" in Fourze or in any follow-up, did they?
Feels like a cheat. |

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I actually feel the same about Ankh's revival -- I kind of hope we never see it, outside of one-off fake-outs like Heigen final? We know Eiji's going to be successful thanks to future Ankh, so I really don't need to see it; his determination is more than enough for me |

Of course, people might forget by the time 2051 ever arrives, but as proven by the GS Ball in Pokemon, there will always be people who remember. This leads me to the sobering realisation that Ankh is most likely going to outlive Eiji considering how Ankh isn't human and Eiji will be really old when he gets revived. That's really heartbreaking for me. |

I complained about the W Futo Detectives manga recently, but I was wondering if anyone actually likes it, or has even actually read a substantial amount of it. I remember reading a little of it and just dropping it quickly because I found it so unappealing. It ran for quite a while, so SOMEONE must enjoy it, right?

I know what the differences are for Progrise Keys; but how do the electronics differ from the DX in the GP and SG versions of...
- Lockseeds - Gashats - Ridewatches - Ridebooks? |
Lockseeds (and Ridewatches too I think) work off a cycle. It's a single button that does all the sounds instead of three buttons. No sounds for weapons, only henshin, 3 attacks, and a bonus sound in the Gashapon ones.
|
Gashats don't light up, don't have the inserty noise, and I think the attacks are different somehow? Can't remember that last point, and don't have any to hand to check.
|
Sorry if this has been brought up before but I haven't been as active on this forum the past year:
I've been re watching Kamen Rider OOO and I remember reading maybe 8 years ago on another forum that Kobayashi had a different ending for the series. Does anyone have any information about this or did I just imagine it? |
