Does anyone have the measurements of the box of the CSM Rider Card set?

Out of curiostiy why do you want to know? |

Aside from the Diendriver which was of course greatly improved, do any of the 20th version DX belts have any differences in function or anything new to them?

That's what I thought -- I assume the original DX Den-O belt didn't come with all those cards, too?
|
The 20th version of Decade Driver has improved cards. They are higher quality and feel more durable compared to the mostly paper ones in the original release.

This is all off the top of my head, so forgive me if I get something in this wrong, but I believe any 20th versions of things that had Super Best versions are basically straight reissues of those, which means things like plastic cards for the DecaDriver, all six of Double's Memories, and the extra cards for the Den-O Belt. The 20th Lost Driver includes both the Skull and Eternal Memories, while the original release only had Eternal. Beyond all that, the DienDriver, and the Sengoku Driver notably removing the Baron stuff, I think all the other 20th releases (which is just the Ex-Aid ones?) are completely unchanged from the original DX releases?

Sometimes, I don't get why people don't like Amazons. Not trying to dissuade anyone, but I sometimes don't get the complaints. Like is it the overabundance of violence or being tryhard. Funny enough, the original Amazon was pretty graphic compared to other Kamen Riders at the times.

*shrugs* Takayama Jin is kind of hot though, I guess? :p |

It's definitely what turned me off a lot. As for Amazon in its time being 'bloodier'... ehhh, in some finishers, sure; but literally just there. Otherwise it really wasn't too out of place among other Rider shows and even some of those more graphic effects are pretty laughable.
|
I'm actually working my way through Amazons season 2 right now and, yeah, it's a huge step down from season 1. Season 1 at least had the benefit of feeling different from what KR was doing at the time, plus "Armor Zone" is an absolute bop.
Season 2 is dialing up the melodrama with this....really weird and uncomfortable romance as the main focus. And yeah, the gore has been dialed WAY up even from the first season. Also, you can easily cut 5 minutes out of every episode and you won't miss anything. |

The original Amazon could only be considered graphic by someone who hasn't actually seen it lol I honestly thought it was pretty funny... On the bright side, I think every sensible Kamen Rider fan learned that this franchise does not need to be edgy to be good. |

I don't have some ideal vision of Kamen Rider that Amazons is assaulting -- in fact, the show's ability to adopt a wide spectrum of tones while remaining, distinctly, Kamen Rider is one of the reasons I love it. Hyperviolence is great, in my book -- it just needs to be in service of something that doesn't move at a snail's pace. |
The funny thing about Amazons with me is that for both seasons, I spent the first half dozen episodes or so only being moderately interested at best before the back halves completely turned my opinion around as I better saw what the stories were doing... and presumably also became desensitized to the frankly absurd stylistic excess. Ultimately, it's a show I really shouldn't like, with my tastes, and didn't, but also really do, so it's kinda easy for me to see either side, here.
Amazons is a show I think you have to learn to laugh at before you can really love it, because it's so dedicated to its self-serious tone that it sure as heck won't be laughing for you. (Case in point: the endless meme hilarity of blaring the theme songs over edgy scenes from other shows while muting the colors, as demonstrated beautifully by this video featuring a scene from late in Zero-One. I mostly just wanted an excuse to link this, if I'm being honest.) |
I have very few opinions on Amazons except that M is the best boy ever and his fate was messed up just for the sake of edge and shock.

A bit of a random question but I'm genuinely curious, what's everyone's favorite minor monster in Heisei Rider?
When I mean minor monster I mean like, excluding major monster antagonists like villains and general's. I'm talking about minor one offs that were mostly confined to their own small plot that you just ended up enjoying a lot, like a random Dopant, Imagin, etc. |
I'm not sure this counts but Kamata from Decade. He was both Kamen Rider Abyss and the Paradoxia Undead. And overall he's just a great villian for Decade. From the fact that he was from Blade world but was also the main villian of Ryuki was a great way to pull of Decade world fusion conflict.
Plus both of his forms were also great within the context Decade. Since with the Rider decks in Ryuki were all originally blanks that had to be filled with a contract so seeing in Decade anew Ryuki Rider whoose Contract Monster which was just a regular MOTW in Ryuki is a great blend of Ryuki and Decade. Then the Paradoxia Undead was one of the couple that was never unsealed in Blade. So it's great to finally see one of them. Once again playing up Decade A.R concept |

Ghost's Insect Ganma is one of the cutest things I've ever seen

Also a huge huge fan of a bunch of Another Riders... but I get the feeling those are kinda cheating, right? They're all pretty memorable and major whether you find them interesting or not for very obvious reasons
|
The Beetle Undead, from Blade's film, Missing Ace.
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/ka...20201129045941 If he doesn't count as being "Minor", then the Beetle Overlord from the Agito special, who today I learned was named Scarabaeus Fortis. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/ka...20200501185127 Beetle monsters go hard, and I love it. Pair them with Go-Gadoru-Ba, and you can't go wrong! |
Loving all these monsters, and I feel like monsters that appeared briefly in specials or movies would count towards minor. Like unless they're the outright main big bad guy with some huge presence. So both Beetle Monsters would count I feel.
Like I'd say even Decade's exclusive characters would count as minor monsters really. Quote:

Legion from Wizard is still my favorite Rider monster ever, which is maybe a bit cheating for this question since he was given the monster of the week role in a particularly major pair of episodes, but it WAS still just a monster of the week role at the end of the day. The Phantoms in general are favorites of mine, but Legion's memorable role and creepy face make him so much more exciting than the rest to me.

At first, I was going to say Arsino Magia, but that's a Reiwa monster, and you asked for Heisei, so I went and looked at all the monsters from seasons I've watched, and I've narrowed it down to three monsters. Although, I'm tempted to say, "every monster from OOO or W," but that's defiantly cheating.
First, Burgermon from Ex-Aid. He's just so likeable, you know? Second, the Orion Zodiarts. Less for the monster itself, and more for the character's story later on. It's a very real story, which I really appreciate. Thirdly, the Key Roidmude. You'd think the power to open things would be a joke, but this one takes it to Dopant levels pretty quickly. |
The Orion Zodiarts always sticks in my mind for a few reasons. For one thing, it was the monster of the first Kamen Rider episode I ever saw; so that never really goes away, does it? For another I'd just finished Kyuranger, and it was incredibly funny to see Orion go from the big special royal final form to just the first monster to beat up this season. For a third oh my GOD that guy is imposing!! He's absolutely massive and makes his presence known through sheer heft and I think that was kind of a mission statement of Fourze; to be big and bold and flashy. Hell, when you've got the Gurren Lagann writer on this why NOT have the first enemy be a guy twice Fourze's size that he takes down with a super drill attack?

Hey, so how many times has the world almost ended in the world of Saber you think? Like it feels like more then we've seen in the show. I think with Bacht being immortal he's seen this happen over and over, and just couldn't take it anymore.
|
Got a question... I'm finding stuff on Carousell that I'd really like to get and can't find anywhere else, but I'm in the UK and the website won't accept a sign-up without a phone number from an applicable country. Does anyone have any experience using a proxy, or having someone else buy from that website for you? Or what shipping tends to be like?

Okay so do Sabella, Durrendal, and Falchion follow the sword slash effect eyes most the other riders have? I'm thinking Falchion is an explosion from the blade, but am unsure. I think Sabella's is suppose to be the smoke plume, but can't tell for sure.
Edit: So we've seen like 5 books sealed in the forbidden part of the Southern Base right? and we know what three of them are so far, One's the book Bacht was sealed in, the other primitive dragon, and the last one was given to storious right? |
What was the name of the special in which RX interacted with his former self, Black, as well as his alternate selves Robo Rider and Bio Rider?
It was used as stock footage in Kamen Rider World when the Giant Shadow Moon was talking to the revived kaijin. |
Run All Over the World.

After doing the little short, I got the "bug" to do more RX and I'm developing some thoughts on it. It can really make its arcs drag on and on, and Crisis doesn't feel like your standard Showa Rider villains. It's almost like they were rejected Sentai or Metal Hero villains shoved into the World of Rider! The whole Ep. 14-17 arc was unique in its own right, and I was wondering why Death Garon even appeared in Run given his fate in the series proper! Shadow Moon feels underused and mismanaged, offering very little to the show and leaving the audience wanting more. Colonel Dasmader seems to just be a high-ranking snob who flaunts his status. The kid from Ep. 29 and 30, Kyoko, develops powers simply through sheer will and questionable arm salutes which really beg more questions then they bother to answer. Robo Rider and Bio Rider would set a standard that the brunt of the Heisei Generation would follow, but half they time they're overshadowed by the monotony of RX using Revolcane! Those are my initial thoughts. It feels almost like a show that doesn't fully know what it is or wants to be. |
I've seen US Dragon Knight.
With the current series running on TV Asahi both Rider and Ranger I figured it would be an ace time to start watching the Rider shows maybe starting at Black and Black RX as this was adapted as Masked Rider. |
In one instance I see that RX was slated to appear on October 16th, but another suggests that it actually debuted on October 23rd! I know that Japanese television was affected by the passing of the Showa Emperor, so is it possible that while the original advertisements suggested the 16th, the sudden death delayed the premiere to the 23rd?
|
No, since the Emperor died in January of 89.
