Dumb thought that occurred to me while I was looking at my GrandZi-O and Saber Dragonic Knight SHFs on my table. Do you think that if GrandZi-O tried to summon Saber's sword(s), he'd get the belt too?
|
I didn't even think he could summon outside of Heisei.
If he could, then I don't see why not. |

Quick question about obtaining some of Over-time’s older shows over here. Over-time often didn’t have seeds for their torrents at the best of times, let alone for older shows. Is there some sort of DDL alternative out there I could use to get shows like Ghost?

Does everyone wish there's a way we can see the other Undead that were sealed and deserve to be unsealed so that we'd see what they look like?

If I recall I think at the very least the most we have for most of the unseen Undead is concept head shots. That is if I recall my experiences from roaming the unused monsters section of Rider Wiki correctly.
|
Most shows up to Ghost were pretty good about giving at least the primary and secondary Riders different bikes. Ryuki and OOO had them share bikes between all the Riders, Decade and Wizard didn't have any for the secondaries, and then since Ex-Aid, only the main guy gets a bike. Although Geiz did have his own red robot, so good for him.

Altho, if you wanna play around a bit, Bakusou bike technically belongs to Genm. |
That's true, Genm does have his little pedal bike!

What if BOARD made a new rider system based after Chalice? Can you imagine Amane as the user for that system? Would you have it based after Blade & Garren or Leangle's?
|
Well based on Chalice I actually don't mind, Hajime and Kenzaki's story was probably one of my favourite elements of the show!
|
Wouldn't it make the most sense to use the Open Up system? It's both stronger and the newest system made.
|
I might be misremembering but wasn't it a plot point that there was supposed to be a 5th rider belt but it was something something too late to complete?

How is that possible its only 4 suits of cards. How they can be a 5th rider?

What bottles would suit the Build riders when using their own BuildPhones?
Build: Lion Cross-Z: ? (Touto) Grease: Robot (Hokuto) Rogue: ? (Seito) MadRogue: ? (Seito) And if A.I.M.S. had their own bikes based on V3’s, would you picture MetsubouJinrai riders’ bikes based on classic bikes like Kiva’s? How about Thouser’s bike from ZAIA? |
Cross-Z would use the Lock bottle.

And Rogue? Any of the Seito bottles for his bike? |

2. It's lock and key themed, thus Cross-Z could use the key to unlock symbolically unlock his lock themed bike 3. It's not like anyone was using the Lock fullbottle. Sento gave it to Ryuga, but he barely used it, even with his sword. |
I always thought it would have been cool if the Machine Builder used the Shark Fullbottle instead
|
I personally thought it would've been hilarious if he used the Engine Fullbottle or the Bike Fullbottle instead. The former making more sense, the latter being really silly to me.

Why doesn't Vulcan's Rampage Bullet use either Hopper? It was made using the data jacked by Thouser, and I'm pretty sure he took either Rising or Shining on one occasion.
|
The only actual reason is that the real world designers didn't want him encroaching on the title character's main motif. But we can imagine the Hopper stuff is like... extra encrypted or something.
|
I think the only data taken of the Hoppers was Shining Assault's? But that was put to use for Metal Cluster.

If Valkyrie had herself a Rampage Gatling-type Progrisekey, how would the other auxiliary keys work in her favour?
Vulcan's side

At what point during the Heisei era did Kamen Riders actually start referring to themselves as "Kamen Riders" in series?
I remember early on that most series went out of their way to explicitly not refer to the characters as Kamen Riders, so I'm curious. |
Faulty memory aside, I suppose Blade? Because IIRC, being a Kamen Rider was an occupation there.
|
Ryuki was at least constantly referring to each other as Riders in a Rider War. I forget if 'Kamen' was in there

Ryuki was the first Heisei series to use the term, but it didn't get used consistently until Decade. There were still shows that used other terms after that point, but there were a lot of crossover movies starting with Decade where even those characters were called Kamen Rider Whatever.
|
This is getting into general thoughts but on the topic of the Kamen Rider... If it does get used in the series, I like when the show establishes it in a diegetic way.
The best example in my mind is W, when early on in the show's run, the general public gives the hero who has been helping them the name 'Kamen Rider', and so Shotarou and Phillip proudly carry the name as the city's protectors. More subtle I think would be Build. It doesn't go out of it's way to make it explicit, so this is maybe just be reading into things, but 'Kamen Rider' is, chronologically in the show's history, first used to describe the suits and weapons that would be useful for war, but then Sento resolved to make it so the name became synonymous with a hero who fights for love and peace. (While it's on my mind, it's amusing/charming how Fourze first introduced the term Kamen Rider because of the legacy of previous show. But since they quickly drifted away from that aspect, the term in Fourze really became just the club's moniker for the hero of their school, which I like and is how I see it whenever they talk about it in the context of Fourze.) ...In the complete opposite end of the spectrum, I dislike 01's instances of having characters talk about what it means to be a 'Kamen Rider' as if it has any inherent meaning within their world. Those instances only make sense to the audience, and they're only called that because that's the franchise they're in. |
So, then, is the question what instances do we prefer for characters to use the term rider?
I'm always stupid giddy when someone goes "That's what a Kamen Rider is/we're Kamen Riders!". I feel like a child when someone does that lol. I liked the first bits where Fuwa, Jin and Aruto reaffirm to each other why their Kamen Riders. In basic sense, everyone has their own understanding of what Kamen Rider is to them. Gai sees them as weapons, Jin sees them as liberators, etc. I don't like the end part where Aruto "After all, we're Kamen Riders, aren't we?" Because, as you say, only the audience knows what the dialogue means. It means different to both Horobi and Aruto in that instance. Although, I did still feel giddy when he said that lol. It's a kino phrase. I think my favorite of using the term Kamen Rider is when it's used to specify a specific figure/s. This guy is Kamen Rider Kuuga. These are the grongi. It gives off this legendary status to the rider and separates him from what he fights off or those that he fights alongside with. He is the Kamen Rider. I think, maybe, somehow, Revice is doing this in some way. Since all the riders happened, it can be assumed that the term "Kamen Rider" is a way to assume a specific figure in a point of time that saved the world or a specific area. An urban legend, just like Fourze. George basically attempting to create his own little rider group, his OCs if you will. Instead of having it so "Kamen Rider" pertains to a specific idea, it pertains to specific figures in history. |
