Does anyone know what kind of spider Demons is based off of? Like not Spider-Man, any type of spider species?

Ghost rewatch continues and I've really enjoyed it so far. My friend and I are up to Ep 28. I've heard it goes off the rails here and frankly I can't remember. So question for y'all, what did you not like about ghost? I'm trying to remember aside from Onari (and yurisen) what people didn't like.
|
The main things about Ghost that stick out to me by this point (and maybe it's not that far in yet for these, actually) are an over-willingness to forgive anything a parent does whenever a parent-child conflict comes up; and having basically nothing for Specter to do. Aside from that, no big issues; and I think this part of the show you're at in particular is right in the middle of Alain's big arc? Which just about everyone likes!

Aside from finding a lot of characters just kind of annoying, I didn't like how brushed over the 99 days and Eyecon collection was. That being completed in less than 15 episodes made the set up and harsh time restriction rather pointless.
Once Makoto chills out and actually listens to what someone else says, he really kind of runs out of things to do, and it becomes even more exacerbated once Kanon is revived. Also, I just don't like Takeru :lol |

No, it's just a theory. As an alternative to him, I can offer a blue tarantula: https://ireland.apollo.olxcdn.com/v1...19bp2-UA/image But it's still more likely that Demons is based on Spider-Man, who, in turn, chose bright colors to be more attractive to children, rather than relying on a specific type of spider. |

With Aba locked in I'm looking to add the Rider shows to my DVD library over the next year or two.
What Rider shows have been released to DVD? I filled in the Power Rangers adaptions from Shout Factory (Zyu - Aba) so Rider might be next in 2023. With the Ranger shows out of the way I'm trying to expand my Toku DVD library out as much as I can. I had wanted to fill in what they adapted for Power Rangers first. Ultra and Rider are next. |

Has it ever been explained, either in series or behind the scenes, why Amazon's chest piece changed colors?

The red chest is apparently what it was originally supposed to look like but they couldn't get it right until a bit later in the series. Yellow chest is the one that's most known, though, so red has made very little appearances aside from Senki

Why does Stronger have such a different helmet design/construction than every other Showa Rider?

Not really Kamen Rider, but it's adjacent. Why isn't Kikaider considered part of the Metal Heroes series?

Once Gavan and the Space Sheriffs made their debut and more or less succeeded, they tacked on anything they could think of to try and copy that initial success. Kikaider just wasn't retroactively considered to be a Metal Heroes concept like Gorenger and JAKQ were retroactively considered to be Super Sentai concepts. Partly because Kikaider was in the '70s and Metal Heroes can be considered a firm '80s-'90s concept. I could argue that it's because Kikaider wears a "suit", but Jiraya renders that a virtual lie. It might seem unfair, but Toei doesn't always double check their work! Should Ninja Captor be a retroactive Super Sentai series? Some have pondered the same. |
It's adjacent because Kikaider and Metal Heroes aren't Kamen Rider, and this is a Kamen Rider thread :lol
And I always felt their exclusion from the Metal Heroes branding just didn't make sense. I get that the brand proper didn't exist at the time, but I don't see why they couldn't have retroactively done so. Gorenger and JAKQ weren't Super Sentai until the 90's. Why couldn't they have just made the call to make the Kikaider franchise part of the Metal Heroes during this same era? Just so odd. It shares so much thematically and aesthetically with the Metal Hero franchise, but it's instead just part of Toei's unaffiliated Toku brands, alongside Akumaizer 3, Zubat, and Inazuman. As for Ninja Captor, I honestly don't know what Toei has against them. However, ever since Ohranger firmly established Sentai's numbering as the 20th series, that kind of left any wiggle room for Ninja Captor to squeeze in as impossible. |
Metal Heroes is very, very broad to begin with so what 'fits' as a Metal Hero thematically would be quite a larger category. I'd argue Zubat would belong there just as much; and in fact would go further and say Robot Detective is the most fitting given how much Metal Heroes is made up of cop heroes.
To begin with, though... I'm not sure why you would? They're vast years apart and hardly have similar creatives or intents behind them like Goranger/JAKQ clearly did to Battle Fever J. Is it just because of Metalder? |

Also, I don't even think the Metal Heroes branding was officially used until Spielban was airing, if not even later than that. |

Part of the Ninja Captor thing is because it might have been done by different people as opposed to the crews of Gorenger and JAKQ. http://ukiyaseed.weebly.com/ukiyasee...t-super-sentai Outside of that, it'll always seem like an error in judgment on Toei's part. I kinda think they just forgot! Spent so long ignoring it that it fell through the cracks. |

Pure speculation, don't take it seriously. |
I have long wanted to share my thoughts on the strange relationship between Fourze and Bleach:
1) Part of Fourze from Megamax in terms of the basic plot copies "Memories of Nothing" - the first feature film from Bleach. 2) For the live-action adaptation of Bleach, all the riders from Fourze were involved (even Nadeshiko!). I just can't believe this is all just a coincidence with no explanation. |
Quote:
As for the Megamax and Memories of Nobody connection... Maybe that might've been a coincidence since certain tropes and plot elements tend to get repeated in media, I dunno. |

I hope to start the Rider line after Don Bros in 2024. However I will end up being able to see the 2023 Ranger series in April 2024. I will have likely been finished with Kira and Zen by that point and any Shout Factory sets released. Deka and Magi are on the way from Shout. I expect a delay on the next 2 after Aba but the Rider line is the next Toku line I'm watching.

Why did they make new suits for Kingdark and Apollo Geist?
Were they really such popular villains to receive updates for minor reappearances? |
Apollogeist absolutely is one of the more popular Showa Rider villains! He had a similar dynamic with X as many primary/secondary riders.
The actual theory behind those suits, though, is that they were intended for a third instalment in the The First/The Next movies based on X -- apparently so far into production that these suits or designs were made and got chucked into Decade. The aesthetics and timeline definitely seem to follow! |
Quote:
And you know, I didn't think of that. It does kind of make sense. Make use of the suits rather than scrapping them. Also helps explain why such well done suits were made for characters that appeared in, like, an episode :lol That does make me curious, though. If they had gotten suits made, does that mean X has a revamped The First/Next suit out there, too? |
I hadn't heard that X was up for the next reboot movie. I would've been curious to see how that turned out. I'm also disappointed again that the third movie wouldn't have been called Kamen Rider the Man.
|
Is there a chance that X will get a reboot? Given that he uses weapons and gadgets, the modern version seems quite logical.
|
I've been thinking... Anniversary seasons are usually not very successful for riders. What if Toei work on the bugs (especially since the new era is a good reason) and instead of a new rider make an anthology season with the heroes of previous shows at Reiwa anniversary, like Garo: Makai Tales. I think it will be possible to include new gimmicks and costumes which Bandai needs so much in it`s story.

I'll just drop the behind-the-scenes footage from the Girls remix here because it's too cute not to share:

Why has Kuroto reverted back to using Proto Mighty Action X in his recent appearances? Isn't Dangerous Zombie an objectively better Gashat?
