I was at Kinokuniya maybe a year ago, and they had a couple of Kamen Rider manga volumes on display. The art style looked a bit old school, but maybe like something modern designed to look older. The biggest thing that stood out to me is that there was a female character, in my mind it was Tackle but I might be wrong, and they drew her in a really revealing way with huge knockers. I think that was one of the back covers of the first 1-3 volumes. Anybody have any idea what this may have been? Based on what I've seen online, it seems like it could be Kamen Rider Spirits, but I can't be certain.

I think it wasn't Kamen Rider Spirits, but Tanjiro Tanzaburo Wants to Be a Masked Rider - a 2018 comedy manga that will soon be made into an anime. It features a character named Yuriko Okada who is a fan of Tackle

So, random question. Ever since Kamen Rider Gavv started airing who here tried at least one of the snacks that appears as a rider form in the show? :lolol

I think I ate a lot of cookies and chocolate during this time.

I made it a point to snack on some gummies during the first episode.
I also regularly snack on chips while watching Kamen Rider and Sentai.

As your average overweight American, I munch on several of the snacks featured without even thinking about Gavv. I don't really do marshmallows, pudding, or the more deluxe items like frappes and cake very often, though.

I like to have a snack on hand when I watch Gavv cuz it makes me hungry lol. Most of their forms are things I've already had, but I've never tried frappe or pudding a la mode so now I definitely want to try them if I get the chance.

For a while I had a minor life goal of keeping track of foods I'd seen in media and trying all of them (shoutout to Ghost for teaching me about takoyaki, so good!), but then Dungeon Meshi and Gavv made that a much bigger challenge XD

I think "The Count of Monte Cristo" is a better fit.

The main character is treated cruelly by his relatives, which results in the death of his parent, and he himself ends up in a distant place, where he gains strength. And then he faces his offenders in a new guise and restores justice.

But how would Shoma' western counterpart be similar to Edmond Dantes? And what of his allies?

Lango Stomach counterpart is similar to Fernando Montego.

Edmond Dantes' motive was revenge though, not necessarily justice. Shouma just wants to make people happy while Dantes was more focused on enacting vengeance against those who wronged him. We don't see Shouma actively scheming against his crappy relatives.

Here it is a matter of cultural differences and different interpretations. I was most impressed by the Soviet-French "The Prisoner of the Chateau d'If" of 1989 (the best adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo, without a doubt) and "Prince Favorsky" of 2005 (a variation on the theme of the Count of Monte Cristo in modern times). And there the actions of the character were interpreted precisely as just retribution and punishment for the sins of the scoundrels, and not a personal insult.I think this has to do with the greater importance of the concept of forgiveness in Orthodox culture than in Catholic culture, which is more focused on redemption.
Back to Gavv, we are talking about a western adaptation. Just judging by PR, they don't adapt the Red Ranger as an optimistic goofball, although this type is very popular in Super Sentai. And in Dragon Knight, Adam is much more serious than Shinji from the original. So I think Shouma's character was changed as well.

Maybe. But what if there are riders who have eggshell armor and cast off into their rider form. Say for birds, while villains from different egg born species, cast off their egg forms to monsters.

It could also work with a geode theme, with the armored form as the rock shell and the rider form as the crystal inside. Good for a construction, treasure hunter or caveman rider maybe?

It's actually surprising that this hasn't happened before, since it's a popular theme. Most likely, Toei didn't want to bother with decorations.
It also looks like the Paradigm Wonder sickle will be used as a pickaxe for the smaller Zeztz. Which makes for a funny analogy with Vram.

How would you all envision a pirate-themed KR season in vibes of Blade & OOO?

There's a whole lot of pirates, marines, etc. + battleships! Sea creatures too! Unless more than just those...

Something along Geats and Gaim in terms of conflict, I guess? I definitely don't want it to be another "collect senpai powers" show just because it's a pirate theme and Gokaiger made it work.

I'd go for something like early Build, with the pirate rider as an outlaw hero opposed by a corrupt government, but embrace the concept more than Build did

I think we definitely need a legendary pirate rider, maybe matching our main rider. The main character himself would either be a captain looking for his treasure aka following in his footsteps, or a newcomer to the team doing this as a mentor. For the secondary, I would use the concept of a loner who doesn't want to work in a team, but is forced to. And the tertiary was something like a cursed pirate in the style of "The Flying Dutchman".
