My post expressed that I'm on the fence about Ghost, but people who like it are just sitting back going "It's good and funny because Yusuren was a funny jerk!" for 4 episodes straight.

Also, why? Speculating on how a plot will move, where the story will go, and how the characters will grow and advance is fun.
People wanting to talk about what they may believe will happen next. People wanting to talk about how an event will affect Takeru. People wanting to discuss Spectre and how he'll play into things.

It's a hell of a lot more interesting than just posting reactionary posts to an episode we've all seen.

I always assumed they were designed with the toy in mind, first. To make sure they can create a toy that has a lot of the functionality that appears in show (Since, for transforming toys, they can just make 2 props of both versions, so they'd have to know they can design a toy that can actually transform and look nice both ways, first).

Could be entirely wrong, though...

I wasn't directing at you, it was more to the vague "is Specter gonna die because he's kinda like Chase?" "is this gonna be another wizard?" "why is the plot so slow?" and other things like that.

Yeah, that's pretty annoying. It would be very well appreciated if people would stop saying "Oh show X is gonna be like show Y because of character A from X looks a bit like Y" and stuff. I like to see every series as an individual show before I start comparing it with others (after a good amount of episodes, when you can actually say something more than: looks interesting).

So is it true that the toy sales for Drive where much lower then expected?

They were much lower than Ninninger's which is always a bad sign for Kamen Rider, as it usually has better sales than Sentai. Especially this year, when Gundam and Yokai Watch took the first two spots, which made KR only fourth in the ranking. It's still kinda surprising because the ratings for Drive were pretty solid (higher than Gaim's on average) and it seems very popular with the Japanese fandom.

On a side note though, in summer, Kamen Rider's numbers were at 25 billion Yen and you had trouble finding Mach or Chaser-related toys in shops on the main street of Akihabara (the only Mach Driver I've seen was 9500 Yen. To give you a comparison: Mandarake had the Blay Buckle for 10000 Yen at the same time)- it still is pretty impressive, but apparently nothing compared to the toys of, say, OOO.

I guess that it can explain why Ghost feels so toy heavy given how poor Drive did with toy sales. I wonder why the toy sales where low? Maybe people where into the gimmick of the show compare to Gaim.

Even Gaim's sales weren't that great in the second quarter. That's why Kaito got a Genesis Driver- he was popular enough for Bandai to hope that him using it would motivate people to buy it (which is kind of a pity because it was the better toy overall). As for Drive... hard to say. They toys are fun and the Riders are all fairly popular. But I don't know how much Japanese kids are interested in cars.
