W-Ghost are still Heisei, but I don't care if fans use the term "Neo Heisei" for them. I just call W-Ghost as Post-Decade Heisei shows. |
The Millennium Series is an official term used for that group of Godzilla films though. Not to mention that there's a clear split between the Heisei and Millennium films there. "Neo Heisei" has just come about because people seem to think that because Decade is an anniversary series that encompassed the first 10 years that what follows suddenly needs a whole new designation.

Again Neo-Hesei is just a stupid fan made term that really shouldn't exist. The official people at bandai don't call it that so why should fans? If it Transformers it makes sense, Godzilla was split into three different periods because there was a very clear divide. Although honestly though we could make anything a "Post era" because this "divide" started at Den-O to an extent. |
Again, I'm not sure about a source on this, but I'm pretty damn sure Toei HAS referred to W on as "Heisei Phase 2," so they do officially acknowledge some kind of divide between Decade and W.

While I don't know whether or not there is any official term, there were a series of changes made to the franchise with the intent on steering it in a different direction in terms of marketing and content.

Whether the divide has an official name or not, I think the biggest evidence that Toei/Bandai DID intend a separation from W onward was the fact that before then, the series was titled "Masked Rider" but after-the-fact it was re-branded as "Kamen Rider," probably to attract international fans of Dragon Knight. I see that as the signal of (if nothing else) a new generation of Riders. I think it's just easier for some fans to acknowledge that clear marketing shift with its own category. And if we're going to refer to that new generation seperately, might as well give it a name for convenience sake. |

After the Megahex incident, what if Takatora & Akira dated and got married? I wish his gaiden movie would've shown Zangetsu using a jinba form with "Jinba Melon".
