What's the point of any power scale if they're just going to power through?

To show how hard the heroes work with what they've got.
Like, Odin's attack power in Ryuki was much higher than everyone else's and the fight against him is awesome.

Who would win accel vs mach?

Probably Accel because he has access to his bike form, booster form, and trial form. Trial having speed comparable to Type Formula and Booster having flight capabilities. His Bike form has access to that gun attachment which negates Mach having more range than Accel.

Well, to be fair, Ryuki's point system actually did come into play in a lot of subtle ways.

For example, Knight's Final Vent beat out Scissors' (or at the very least did enough to do major damage, unlike Scissors) because Knight's is much stronger.

Accel. I just don't see Dead Heat being much of a match for Accel, Trial, Booster, or Engine.

Related note: I'm going to be pissed if we don't get a movie of Gou riding Accel.

Yeah, but it still happened once or twice.

I honestly don't know but I suspect that they'd be even because dead heat and trial move at about the same speed and booster can fly but mach can use the signal koukan's like kaksarn and magarl to counter that. So in my opinion it'd be even.

I'm not sure if Akiko would disapprove or insist on watching. I suspect the latter.

Those pairings rarely "make sense". We had Dinosaurs paired up with Wizards, Angels with Detectives and Car/Animal Hybrids paired with Vampires.

And they dont have to make sense since they are not supposed to work together in that way.

And to be honest the crossovers would loose a bit of their flavor if the superherotime shows always had themes that compliment each other.

There is no real explanation. Its a place in the Gates subconscious or something like that.

I disagree. Assuming this is a no-holds-barred fight, Mach's ability to create a density shift would easily allow him to keep up with, or even outspeed, Accel Trial. The density shift would also render standard Accel, Booster and AccelGunner useless. And without the speed advantage DeadHeat Mach vs Accel Trial would be an easy win for Mach, since Trial is explicitly weaker than Accel in all areas other than speed.

While I'd agree here on the technical side, this wouldn't work on a story base. Mach and Drive both decided they wouldn't use density shift anymore. ;)

I love Terui, but didn't Drive in Dead Heat punch freaking Heart through across a moutain or at least a really tall hill?

Trial and Booster can take that form, sure, but I doubt standard Accel is going to just take a Rider using Dead Heat.

When exactly was it stated that other speedsters couldn't just power through a Density Shift? I mean, wasn't Drive solution to that bullshit Heavy Density Shift to just get faster? ( and by the way, we've never seen the Roidmudes use again, even though Mach doesn't have that immunity, so they could upgrade another Roidmude (now that Chase switched sides) and target Mach with that). Booster still has the advantage of flight, and Trial still has access to the sword, so any extra damage he may need he can use one of his finishers using Engine to even the fight.

Actually, no. Drive Type Formula is simply resistant to the Super Density Shift, it's not the super speed that makes him move inside it. If the super speed was why he could move then Dead Heat should be slowed just like the other Types, but it still could move, even if a bit sluggish, and it doesn't have super speed. It's all about the resistance the shift car gives to its user.

I figure that's mostly becuse density shift gives no tactical advantage against Roidmudes, so for them it only serves to freak out humans. Against a foe that isn't immune to density shifts, do you really think Gou would hold back from using one?

No, it's the shift cars that let Riders negate density shift. They don't just speed through them. Yes, Accel Trial would still be able to move under density shift, but he would lose his speed advantage. He would not be able to keep up with Mach's ability to go the speed of sound. And without his speed, Accel Trial is explicitly said to be weaker than Accel in all other aspects.

Booster doesn't even factor in once density shift is in play. It has no super speed, so using it just makes him an easy target for Mach. Same with the Engine Blade. What use is a sword against someone who is faster than you and using a gun?

Considering that they decided not to use it because they don't want to be like the Roidmudes: Yes, I think he wouldn't use it.

Drive has the Handle Ken, which he can use without inserting a Shift Car to let it move uninhibited by a Density Shift. He's done just fine against Roidmudes with laser fingers when just using his sword, and Engine Blade has ranged attacks thanks to Jet and Steam. As for beating a speedster in general...

Speedsters tend to be cocky bastards, if using speed is their default. Let's not pretend that is most of the fights we seen Mach actually uses his speed that much, in comparison to Trial. Terui's just got to wait till Gou chooses to get up close again, since he does like getting physical as much as does blasting his opponents, and then stab him.

Also, it's not been shown just how badly Density Shift would affect Trial, though I'll give you that if Mach went Dead Heat, he'd definitely out-speed Terui.

This is all of course assuming Gou uses such a cheap tactic to begin with. Even when he was acting like a ass, recently, he didn't use this to try to get the jump on Chase or Shinnosuke.

You're assuming Gou actually listened to Shinnosuke. We havn't really seen Gou in another situation where a density shift would help him but he refused to use it.

The thing is, once you can outspeed (or even equal in speed) Trial it's all over for Terui. The whole point of Trial is that it's weak as hell, but the speed makes up for it. Seriously, if you believe the 'official' strength stats from the series websites, a Kurokage Trooper packs more of a punch in a single blow than Trial. Even if Accel Trial did manage to lend a blow on DeadHeat Mach with superior thinking, it wouldn't be anywhere near enough to knock Mach out of the fight. And let's be honest, Terui's not a tactical thinking kind of fighter, he's a 'get angry and try to hit harder' kind of fighter.

Chase is a Roidmude and Shinnosuke carries shift cars wherever he goes. Using density shift on them would do nothing but give them advance warning and/or make Shin angry at him for using it. Again, I've seen nothing in the show that makes me think Gou would hold back on density shift if he was in a situation hwere it would actually help him.

Ehhhh, yes? Because aside from the whole "I don't like Chase"-thing, that's what he did for a fair amount of episodes?

we all are forgetting to mention that Terui was able to fight off the Trigger dopant without being able to turn into Accel, along with the fact that he used his sword that you know, is so heavy that it breaks up the pavement under it when he drags it on the ground.

Truth actually why is his sword so heavy to begin with? Kiva's zanvat sword was about the same length and was made by fangires yet wataru could hold it without turning into kiva.

The way it is presented in the show and given its name is Engine Blade it was probably made out of an engine and weighs around the same.

That'd explain it even though I don't know how anyone can make a sword from an engine block and yet the engine still works, it explains it.

Considering that Shroud built Accels Upgrade to pretty much kill him when he takes longer than 99 seconds to execute his finisher nothing surprises me with her.

Wataru not being completely human might have something to do with that.

A magic sword probably isn't crammed with so much stuff as a technological blade filled with functions.
For X or Y reason the engine blade has no way of "vanishing" like most rider weapons, it could very well be incredibly complex and hence heavy.

Why are insects treated as a "Staple" to Kamen Rider when so few recent series make use of it beyond the large eyes on their designs?

It's because the whole Showa Era had a bug motif, and earlier Hesei Era had bug motifs mixed with different designs. Gaim's mouth plate thing to me always looked like Ichigo's mouth plate. Also the newer shows have some "bug" elements, in either their forms or parts of the suit.

But many Showa era characters were also cyborgs, but that aspect is incredibly rare these days.
I can see how the bug motif is part of Kamen Rider's legacy, but not how it's KR's staple.
