I'll always maintain that the last two episodes of Wizard was actually the Decade version of Wizard.

Speaking of Wizard, I still don't get what I'm supposed to hate about it. I'm actually liking a quite a bit.

I loved Wizard. My only nitpick was how we didn't learn the Donut Makers name until the Wizard/Fourze Movie.

You don't have to hate a show just because others do.

Wizard started off good, but got boring and became decent during the last arc of the show. I thought the show had too many boring episodes and I didn't care for the supporting cast that much. They where pretty much useless.

Wizard does have some good points, great costume design, darker and interesting take on monster concepts and finest swordsmanship and well there are negatives I would bring up but I won't since I would rather spend my time promoting positivity about the rider seasons rather than negatives.

I believe I went on a tangent and my apologies about going on about this.

For me it was mostly that Wizard was very formulaic and, after three years of it, I was getting really tired of the Neo Heisei pattern. Haruto is awesome, though.

I haven't seen Wizard, but I'd imagine many of the guys here that watched it watched it right after W, OOO and Fourze came out so its format might have grown stale.


Don't know how it is for somebody like me who didn't start watching shows as they aired until Gaim.

Currently giving Wizard the 5-episode test, 2 eps in and I think it's alright, certainly a downgrade after finishing on a VERY high climax with Den-O though. Also tried giving Kiva a 5-ep test too, but definitely mehhhhh on it after the 1st ep, haha.

can I say my main problem with Drive is not the plot, or the characters, it's the lackadaisical grip they seem to have when they wanna make it a mystery.

like, my god, I got so pissed off the more I saw what they considered good mysteries in the show. they don't explain anything, and sometimes the viewer isn't even allowed to know what clues ARE.

I mean, it doesn't even seem to want to follow Knox's commandments on what makes a good mystery.

and it doesn't have to follow all of them. I know it can't follow the second rule for obvious reasons. but, I know what made me quit the show.

it wasn't Mach's personality. it was the fact that they showed the roidmude was left handed, but shinnosuke only fought it once, and the guy suspected to be a roidmude only fired a gun once. like, not even in a way where the viewer could know it was a clue. I just got so sick of it. and it's not even specifically that. that instance was just the last straw.

Krim Steinbelt: He was standing along with Dark Drive! So he's not Dark Drive.
Eiji Tomari: It's dumb idea! How Eiji is Dark Drive when Eiji is being attacked by Eiji. And 2 Eiji is stupid idea because it would make a big plothole.
Shinji Koba: While he did want a manhunt to Shinnosuke, I feel that him as Dark Drive wouldn't be shock to Shinnosuke as he rarely know that man.
Chase and Gou: The 2 Biker Rider! Some people think Krim brainwashed one of them as Dark Drive but if Dark Drive was Chase or Gou, He wouldn't have Dark Drive attacking his past self so Dark Drive wouldn't be exist.

That's leave me 1 suspect who could Dark Drive's identity.

Hold on! Hold on! Why Kiriko as Dark Drive's identity is very good idea.

While Krim deemed her as unsuitable for Drive since she's too strong to handle it but Evil Krim found the way of her becoming a kamen rider she wanted to be.

Her as Dark Drive's identity will be super shock to Shinnosuke because he fighting a woman of his love. Surprise Future have 1 big moment when Shinnosuke and Kiriko hug each other which they never hug each other in previous episode.

I feel having Eiji as Dark Drive while attacking other Eiji is big cop out. How Krim brainwashed Eiji when there's another Eiji, Did he went to the future or what?! I am so confusing! I hate confusing storyline! :mad:

I think that's a pretty safe bet. Krim could have reprogrammed him at some point in the future.

Currently watching Kamen Rider Kuuga at ep 10

Yes. I was initially confused by it as well, but you're supposed to be unable to understand their language. You can however decipher the language yourself if you want to, they follow a pattern, but that might be hard for someone who isn’t speaking Japanese.

But it is not essential to understand what they are saying, you can get what they do and what they're after simply by watching them do things. Kuuga & the police ask themselves the same questions as you do, that's the idea.

Some DVD-release shave subbed their language in Japanese from what I know, but it wasn’t intended to be that way.

No, they will (or already have by this point) learn Japanese and speak it further into the show. But they rarely do, for a reason which will be explained later on.

What would be the next themes for Kamen Rider to use someday in the future? For me...

When Kuuga wants you to know what the Grongi are saying it will tell you what they're saying. Otherwise it's meant to be part of the mystery. There are some subs available that do translate the Grongi, but being able to understand them from the start spoils a lot of stuff that you wouldn't learn until much later on.

about Kuuga I'm sure almost everyone knows Joe Odagiri does not have any interest in repriseing his role as Yusuke Godai

How will people feel if Ryouta Murai reprise his role as Kuuga but as Yusuke Godai not Onodera

if he can actually portray him as Godai, I am fine with it.

I want the Kuuga I love, not the comedic side character version.

I'd feel completely uninterested. He doesn't have half the charisma that Godai has.

I wouldnt even be remotely interested in seeing that. Joe Odagiri is Godai and Murai is Onodera. If they wanna bring him back as Onodoera they can do it as often as they want but recasting him as Godai? Sorry but thats not gonna work for me.

I'm very aware that Joe Odagiri returning to Kamen Rider is highly unlikely, nearly impossible, but I dream of the time when he might be older and is just like „Yeah why not I'll do it“ and he returns as a mentor to other Riders just like Hiroshi Fujioka did in Kamen Rider Taisen, a living legend.

It will never happen but I can dream.

Him returning when hes older is much more realistic than its is now at least. He is still an high profile actor and like alot of american actors of that caliber they are more likely to appear in kids films/shows when they are older and in the later part of their career. Especially when they have kids and start doing projects they kids can watch and enjoy.

I hold no grudge against him for stating his opinion. It's his life, if he didn’t like working on Kuuga and doesn’t want to return than that's his decision to make.

I'm not sad about it, I'm just really grateful that he played the role the way he did because I love that character.

It would even be more meaningful since he didnt return six times between that.

Its not that he hated working on the show but rather that hes just not interested in reprising the role right now. Its true that he hated auditioning for the show and did not see a challenge as an actor in it. But working on the show changed his opinion on that a bit. He never became a super duper fan like Blades actor but he doesnt "hate" Kamen Rider either.

I imagine its just a mix of him being too busy, too expensive and the reunion movies just not offering the material he would deem good enough to come back for.

you can dislike the reasons an actor doesn't want to reprise their role AND respect the decision.

Plus someone not liking or just not being a huge fan of the franchise isnt the same of not being grateful to it opening the doors for better acting gigs.

Kamen Rider is still just kind of a silly kids show to the majority of adult japanese people so him not turning into a gigantic Rider Fan isnt unusual at all.

I love the entire mindset of whatever their reason for not returning to Kamen Rider, their automatically wrong solely because you disagree with the decision that absolutely nothing to do with you personally. Some people will be Kamen Riders forever. Some people do their season and move to other things. That does not somehow make them bad people. Nor should it. And that does not, in fact, make him "full of himself". Also, how about we remember that his infant son passed away earlier this year and cut the man you've never met outside of watching him on one season of Toku a little bit of a damned break.

Him not returning, I promise, will not affect your life in any way, shape, or form. Just like how Takeru Satoh not returning to Den-O had absolutely no bearing on our lives. What it did was give us the perfection of Momotaros as Den-O.

Let's, as an entire fandom, try and remember just because these are beloved characters to us.. they are just characters. And the actors portraying them are real people capable of making real adult decisions. Like to return or not. Appreciate what they did while they were here, and respect the fact that if they want to move on they can.
