Kusaka was the first that came to mind, but I honestly kind of see him as a villain that's just working with the heroes because they have a mutual enemy.

I haven't seen every Rider series and I could also be remembering other series that I have seen wrong, but is Mitsuzane the first Rider to have a genuine face-heel turn story arc? As in a character that starts off as a full-blown hero and ally and straight up becomes a bad guy, without the involvement of any brainwashing, possession or being misdirected by the villains.

I can think of others that started off in an antagonistic role, but I can't think of anyone who started as a straight up ally and switched sides purely by their own free will.

Rey from Kiva and Kabuki from Hibiki. Also Glaive from Blade.

I was thinking about that but remembering the movie he was an antagonist from the get-go. He was fighting the unknowns but the fact that him and his boss were antagonists since day 1 if I recall.
