Kiva had a plot?
|

Now whether or not it's worth keeping up with, well, most of you know my opinion on Kiva by now. |

Anyway, the initial plot is just Wataru being brought out of his shell while fighting to keep people safe from Fangires in the present while his dad does the same thing while trying to woo a Fangire Hunter named Yuri. Instead of feeling jumpy, the narritive swapping works to help set up Wataru's story by showing what happened in the past to get him to this point. It's a pretty good series that I do reccomend. |

Personally, while I don't consider Kiva to be a truly good show, it is still on the okay scale for me and one of my two guilty pleasures (the other being Wizard). There are things I love (some of the characters, the designs, the music, the overall concept) and things I hate (other characters, some good chunks of the dialogue and execution of a number of plots), but overall, I still enjoy watching it, as long as I'm in the mood for it. |
So are there any suits from the Showa Era that are still left and not destroyed or gone?
|
I doubt it, since it's most probable that the suits we see now are recreations, rather than restorations.
|
When Kamen Rider 1 and 2 showed up in the Drive vs Ninningers special, it seemed pretty clear that they were re-built. I don't know about the other suits, but I assume they'd re-make those too. I would imagine the showa suits would be in pretty bad shape, and they can modernize them a bit (by making them easier to wear or something, I don't know, that was just conjecture).

People tell me that the original suit for Kamen Rider Black XR is still around in bad shape. Also is the Kuuga suit use in Decade, the same one used back in 2000 or brand new one?
|
Personally, I doubt they'd keep on to the original Kuuga suit from 2000, but they very well could have.
|
Considering Kuuga's low budget, I think they might have replaced the used models from the show for all his appearences after that. I don't think these things, especially the stunt suits stand the test of time very well in general, so I doubt that even the suits from the last few years are show-originals. I mean, Blade even had the main character suit replaced by a poorly repaired one in one of the first episodes (I guess the shiny material isn't very strong. Still his matte belly makes me shake my head very single time) so I doubt these things are made to endure more than one full show.
Also another good example regarding the Blade suits used is that the helmets use a different shade of Silver in the newer versions that has more of a golden touch to it. So if those younger suits have been replaced already, I don't think they'll use old Showa or Kuuga suits anymore. |

Kamen Rider has some serious continuity issues and they just hit me right this second. in Decade they treated each Rider season like it's own separate world. If that's true.. how the heck do team-ups work? Or Taisen for that matter. Of the Gaim/Toqger summer episode!
And if they aren't separate worlds.. Then why the heck aren't older Riders helping the newest ones? They don't all lose their powers. I know I know it's in the script. |

As for why they only show up in movies, I'm going to assume that it's like the Showa era and they're all busy fighting evil in South America. |
Do you think we'll get more riders besides just Ghost, Specter & Necrom?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OZpgnYhzdkI and that all concludes in the climax of Movie War Mega Max during a blink and you miss it scene where Kamen Rider J https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NL6CDFn2i3I but in a bizzare twist, that plot thread gets tied up in the Fourze stageshow. Seriously, in "KAMEN RIDER PREMIER STAGE SHOW ~THE LARGE COSMIC WAR IS HERE!~" there's a short scene near the middle where where V3 and Amazon https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vstma42lHEk confirming once and for all the reason why older Riders don't help the newer ones more often if ever. And don't get me started on the reason older Sentai teams don't help the newer ones. That's all because https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eh7lp9umG2I And we STILL don't have confirmation as to what Gosei Tribe Brajira belonged to even though said tribe plays such a pivotal role in all this for some reason! Just give us the answer Toei, you already explained the rest of it! |

The Taisen movies themselves are one big continuity error. So I view the Taisen movies as what if stories. |
I honestly don't take references to older series at face value. Movies are fickle and stupid and the series treat things as if they are the lone heroes. Fourze may have referenced the Showa heroes at times, but it was all superficial and didn't really forge any connection beyond the annual crossover movies.
Foundation X being brought up for one episode at the tail end of a series just isn't a strong enough connection for me, really. I'm really not gonna argue it and if you want to treat Decade through Ghost as one continuity, then go for it, but eh. I'm not down for it (And I'm still super pissy about Drive and Ghost's mixed continuity). |
Gaim did had the belts of W-Gaim shown on that one episode on a computer scene.

Drive finds an Eyecon during his series (Or movie. I didn't keep up with Drive), which explains how Takeru inexplicably has it during Ghost. While I may hate that explanation, it gives Ghost and Drive a much stronger bond as a single universe than just forcing the audience to accept that everything post-Decade is one solid continuity despite little to no ties reinforcing it. As I said, though, it's just my mentality to write off such references as nothing more than that, references, unless something is truly gained in doing so. The old guy in Ghost can go on a rant about Medals and Rings and Lockseeds for 10 straight minutes, but unless it actually has any payoff, I won't see it as "GHOST IS TOTALLY CANON TO OOO, WIZARD, AND GAIM NOW!" I probably come off as stubborn, but I just don't hold any interest in a series baiting viewers with references to past series and doing nothing with it, so I just kind of write them off as soon as they come up. |
I always believe Gaim's appearance in Wizard could have happen early on in Gaim. Could have happen sometime after Kouta became Gaim. The only early bird cameo I feel like could not be canon is Fourze's since the summer OOO movie does not fit anywhere.

Are there any ghost icons that you would wish Ghost would do? It seems like they are not making more ghost forms of other famous people seeing that Ghost has move on with Toucon Boost and Grateful Damashii.
