Oh, is that the issue here? Frankly I think it's a matter of how far in you are. If you're like halfway through Blade or Gaim or whatever yeah just finish that first but if you've only seen a couple episodes I say screw it, go watch Den-O.

Question time! Can you say there's anything you liked from Decade? I liked the concept, the suits, DiEnd's shtick as a thief, the music and the Den-O episodes

Scenes with Wataru and the Kiva World for the premise of "monsters of the show are happily coexisting with humans, everyone knows it and the only problems are when an ass hole tries starting shit."

That needs to be the premise of a full Rider show.

Most of the Rider World ideas are great. Ryuki's is my personal favourite, just for how weird and un rider-showy it is. The suit designs (barring complete) are good, the idea of the plot is solid (someone traveliing the dimensions to find himself could easily be hero's journey material), and Natsumi and Alt!Kuuga are great companions at times. The eindividual episodes themselves are also really solid and fun, even with the absense of a plot... which is probably a good thing, as Decade's plot kills anything it touches. For a given sense of the word "plot".

I'm pretty fond of most things in Decade. I'd be more bothered by its lack of long-term planning if it weren't so much fun.

I love a lot of the alternate Heisei worlds more having seen the shows now, too. Kiva, Blade, and Hibiki stick out to me. And Kuuga, but I already knew that one was good to begin with.

I've always been real curious if there even was a plan to begin with, and it just got away from it. One thing that REALLY sticks out to me now is the choice of OG Heisei Riders to appear in the first and last episodes. Wataru was the lead from the year before and thus likely readily available, and Kenzaki is a fan-favorite, but they're still the last two people you'd expect to tell another Rider trying to fight fate is stupid. Between that and the trailer at the end for a movie that doesn't exist, I wonder if Decade was secretly going to be great until something happened to make it what it was.

It may be a guilty pleasure, but I love the suits in Decade (even the ugly Complete form has a place in my heart). Magenta works really well (even for Ex-Aid after I've warmed up to it), DiEnd's helmet is cool and Rising Ultimate fits right in with Kuuga.

How does Rising Ultimate fit in with Kuuga?

Like Triumphant is to Gaim Rising Ultimate is to Kuuga. A drastic change in aesthetics, buy still recognizable as Kuuga. At least in my opinion. Look at Growing form to Mighty Form the armor gets more detailed, the shoulder pads get bigger and the horns get longer, just like Rising Ultimate to Ultimate. I agree, the Decade designs are fantastically bizarre and hyper modern (When I thought Decade was the weirdest Rider design, DiEnd comes along). If only the writing rose to the challenge.

Yes, actually. The head writer changed at some point (halfway?). Unlike Hibiki I've never really heard why.

I'm pretty sure it only being 31 episodes was just a conscious decision on Bandai's part to stagger the new Sentai and Rider shows each year out a bit more for markety reasons too, so I'm really lost as what exactly caused them to switch things up like that. I don't think the show was doing poorly or anything.

Why do Toei always kept the identity of actor who play Kamen Rider a secret?

For Example, They kept the identity of Kamen Rider Sigurd, Kamen Rider Proto-Drive, Kamen Rider Dark Drive, Kamen Rider Necrom and recently Kamen Rider Genm who have no spoken line in this week's episode a secret.

Kamen Rider Sigurd's identity was Lock Dealer Sid

Kamen Rider Proto-Drive's identity was Chase

Kamen Rider Dark Drive's identity was Paradox Roidmude who was disguise as Eiji Tomari

Kamen Rider Necrom's identity was Alain

I think Kamen Rider Genm's identity is most likely to be Parad since the set leak about Ex-Aid was true because they says about The President of Genm Corporation was a young man and it says Kamen Rider Genm is to be Higher Up Bugsters. Who is this higher up Bugster? Parad!

Why Toei make a big deal of keeping the actor's identity a secret if you guys knew who is going to be Kamen Rider?

Because Sid appeared in episode 1. Sigurd appeared in episode 14. It was kind of obvious that they didn't want you to know who was Sigurd 3 months in advance.

Because there's this thing called mystery. Not everybody scours the internet and looks up rumors or photographs, especially not the intended target audience for the show; children in Japan.

But really, I'd hardly call it a big trend. Ghost in particular didn't actually do anything like that. You see Alain holding the Necrom Eyecon at the end of the episode before Necrom debuts, and despite it being a secret to the characters, Specter is credited as "Fukami Makoto" from the episode he shows up.

To build up hype and suspense. It makes viewers theorize and if it turns out to be true, then people feel nice and fuzzy inside due to being right. It's a common thing in media

Because we technically came into the series in the middle of everything. If they had actually started at episode one and gone forward, we would've already known that DV was Anakin.....

They did start at Episode 1, though.

Pardon? Is that a thing that's actually happening? I only remember hearing that vague mention of bringing the Japanese Amazon Prime stuff over that was way more meaningless than people thought it was.

Yeah, it was. At least according to the DVD documentary I have from a special set celebrating the then-upcoming prequel trilogy, which I highly doubt was wrong, but you never know I guess.
IIRC George Lucas wrote it all from the beginning, but he had to pick and choose what to actually make into a movie since it was so long.

Admittedly it's not like me or anybody else has the full, 100% true story but I've always got the impression the legendary full script that got chopped up into the original Star Wars was WAY different and less detailed than the 5 other movies we ended up getting.

It was only planned out "from a certain point of a view", you might say.

With a date and a source and everything? Frankly if that's the case I'll be kind of sad because Over-Time's subs were, outside of a couple lines, really good. I'm still bummed the official subs we're getting for Ultraman can't be bothered to translate the songs. When the lyrics are right there on the screen, you've really got no excuse.
