Power Rangers In Space DX Silver Titanus Gallery
25 Attachment(s)
Tokunation.com is back with it's final tribute to Power Rangers In Space and this time it's a big one! Today we have a complete gallery the DX Silver Titanus figure, a rare piece that came out at the tail end of the In Space toyline. Rumor has it that Silver Titanus was originally meant to have a brief appearance in the shows final 2 episodes, Countdown to Destruction, for the epic final battle! It only has 2 official combinations, one with the Mega Winger, and one with the standard non-winged Mega Voyager. The others pictured here are just there for fun.
What's even more interesting that you may not know is that Silver Titanus was designed by PLEX! Yes that's right PLEX, the Japanese group responsible for designing nearly everything in Super Sentai from ranger suits to mecha to changers, designed this bad boy. We've included a scan from a PLEX design book released in 2001 that showcases their original line art for Silver Titanus as well. Silver Titanus is a heavy repaint/remold of the original DX King Brachion (AKA Titanus) figure from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger. Some of the accessories from each are even capable of being swapped between the 2, and though the electronics have been removed from this release there is still an accessible battery compartment. |
I always wanted this in the show because you just know Phatom Ranger chopped Titanus' head off and replaced it with a shuttle. The head was then given to the space mafia to put in the beds of zords that refuse to be hassled.
...What? didn't you know Zordon was funded by the space mafia? How else did he afford an apprentice tiki mask? The answer: extortion money from Ninjor and the Dragonzord. |
Since it is a remold of Titanus, technically it's still compatible with the MMPR MegaDragonzord, Ninja/Shogun MegaFalconzord, etc.
I know they don't belong, but you should show the aforementioned Megazords with Silver Titanus to show their compatibility. |
Aww, I was hoping to see the shuttle "head" standalone and how it connects. :(

All Power Rangers toys are designed by PLEX, they have a US branch.

That looks amazing o-o

This looks strange.

I don't think I had ever seen an image of Silver Titanus before, so this is pretty interesting. The shuttle head thing is sort of Machine Robo/Gobots style, nice.

It really is an odd entry in an otherwise excellent line. I like Silver Titanus but I can see where it would turn alot of people off.

I remember this.
I never owned it, but I did see it in the store. I always wanted one for my Mega Voyager... |

I agree. While the concept of Silver Titanus was simple, it did enough to make it feel like an entirely new toy, thanks to that bitchin' space ship front section and the accommodations it made to properly interact with the Mega Voyager (With the rocket front section and ship being able to combine with it).
It's actually why I'm not completely against Zord Builder. A universal joint system means that, should BoA decide to up the budget, we could see some really unique things again. |
wow, those two red and blue mechs at the bottom showed up in the Operation overdrive toyline.....wow.
