I had no idea that it was supposed to be a phone until they showed it in use on the show. I think they missed the mark on conveying that in the toy...

Yup, it's a touch screen smart phone :D

When did they use it in the show? For some reason I totally missed that part. LOL

They used it as a phone and a hand held computer last episode sort-of:eyebrow

Considering most belt buckles/gimmick cases look incredibly boring to me, this one is quite good for its kind.

I just wish the front face of it at least had a hologram or something. But it's just a sticker :(

If its the latest episode then I haven't seen it yet which may explain why I've never seen them use it as such. lol

Den-O, I think you might need to check the white balance on your video. It's really yellow. Also, if you have time, stop by Lowes or Home Despot and get some 6500K CFL's. They produce a nice even white light. That's what I've been using for the last year in all my vids.

I'm using white bulbs. My photos use the same bulbs as my video and when I set the white balance before I begin the shoot it usually looks fine. For some reason this one turn out yellow.

Nice review Den. I like the design of it, looks cool enough, just doesn't do enough for me to warrant a purchase yet. And I ain't about to pay 2000 yen for a Jyudenchi =p

I think Ian using it in episode 7 is the first time it's even used as a phone :lol

That is really weird. The camera must have picked up on one specific spot it thought it was yellow and adjusted the white balance internally. Weirdness like this is why I no longer use a white background.

I somehow completely missed that what Ian was using in the latest episode was the Mobuckle. Also, I really like how it looks like a little dino head, another thing I completely missed before.

I missed the fact that it had eyes and opened like a mouth until I shot the gallery! :lol I couldn't resist the pic of the buckle gobbling up batteries.

Nice that they're beginning to move to touchscreen devices in the show itself. I thought Ian using the phone was a nice touch. I'm just wondering if touchscreen devices would be problematic to portray as toys in the future.

Yeah after watching episode 7 I had to double-take when I saw them using the Mobuckle as a phone.I rushed to this vid to see if the DX toy actually did anything besides open...and nope.The one storage buckle that serves a larger purpose in the show and the toy can only open.

I understand this kinda toy can't really function like the the K-Touch or anything,but they could have put a soundboard in it or something.The bottom/back looks like it could have enough room to put one inside and they could have made like slide in screens or something.For 2000 yen that doesn't seem too unreasonable.

I guess the budget for buckle electronics went to the Transpod's farm animal sounds.
