ToQGer adaptation problems
 

Basically I'm just asking for a bit of help here. Inspired by the story of UncleAnon's adaptation of Over-Times Kyoruger scripts into Power Rangers Dino Bravers for his nephew, I'm trying my hand at it myself.

I'm going to try and adapt their scripts into something the young people in my life who constantly ask about sentai into something they might be able to grasp onto. We've tried in the past watching just subbed shows but they've always been put off by the Japanese names but when they watched the dino bravers stuff they got really into it. I'm hoping to keep them interested especially for when babysitting duties come around. if this works I'm going to attempt some older series they may enjoy as well.

If they work out well enough I may release them online as well, maybe help others who have encountered similar problems in getting young ones interested.

I've started working on the script for episode 1 and once I put all the lines in order for easier editing I got to work. The hardest part has been coming up with names for the different elements in the show. I'm keeping things like Rainbow line and Shadow Line, the names of the characters but obviously the show name, team designations and mechs are being changed where

Ressha Sentai ToQGer - Power Rangers Rainbow Express
ToQ #1 - Express #1
ToQ-Oh - Rainbow Express Megazord
ToQ Change - Express Change

so what do people think, suggestions for better names and what the henshin call should be would be appreciated.

I think the Norikae Change should be called Train Exchange! Cause it sounds good. :D All the stuff you have so far I think is pretty great.

for the Zords they are just named like Red Ressha or Red Express in OT subs. I personally feel they should have more individual names. Since the first 5 are based on three differet types, so I think trying to put them in some way would help. differentiate between red train, blue train green train etc

Yellow Metro
Green (I got nothing)
Pink Subway

for the first episode when ticket and the conductor transfer everyone back to their own colours I used the line "Now Transferring to original Lines), and named the Bazooka the Rail-Way Bazooka. opinions?

I was thinking of Green Rail or Green Locomotive. Lol that second sounds bad.

I had doubts to about how they would, or could, adapt this for an American audience. But those doubts were gone when I saw the show. It wouldn't be that hard a thing to do. In fact, if done right it could be one of the most popular seasons.

It could be but I also think they wouldnt swamp the colors often with red doing pink alot

I remember reading about those Kyoryu subs but never checked them out. Great idea doing the same for ToQger!

What about Green Loco for the Green Ressha? I like Locomotive like KyoryuNerd suggested but its a bit of a mouthful.

green loco it is, I've just started on episode 2 about an hour ago and just finished adjusting the lines in the script which is easily the hardest part of this process.

one thing i'm having trouble with is the actual name. They refer to themselves as ToQger quite a bit, and at times I'm being quite liberal whether I put it in as Rainbow Express, Power Rangers or just Rangers. Do people think that this is a problem. or should I try and come up with a name that works better ala Dino Bravers?

Also is any here interested in getting a copy of the script and watching it to see how it plays?

I'd certainly like to see how the first 1-2 episodes go!

I like slipstream and streamline names, but i'm still not loving the express part.

What about when they refer to themselves as ToQGers they use the Phrase Express Rangers?

any feedback, contructive criticism, suggestions or questions is appreciated. I'm gonna give it a few days before I actually continue since it takes me 3 to four hours to do an episode, i'd rather get some feedback before moving forward

Idk... Blue Bullet reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog, and who doesn't love Sonic the Hedgehog! lol (Just don't mention '06) Also, I like Green Rail better than Green Locomotive.

Sorry, Kyoryuger's adaptation being Super Dino Charge instead of Dino Charge Carnivale bothers me greatly.

Snowblower Scope Zord(I refuse to accept it as anything else)
Car Transport Zord
Fuel Breaker Zord
Yardmaster Zord (Diesel Ressha)

Unsure what some of the others would be as they appear.

What about the Gaim crossover with ToQger? Will you be doing the scripts for it or will you be skipping it? I guess you can call Gaim "Masked Rider: Armor Warrior".

i'm not sure on the GAIM crossover, i'm gonna wait and see how it works out of how much of it is in continuity.

will pm those script later, actually doing a v2 before moving on. since no one actually expressed an interest in seeing them I've barely started on episode 3. will try and get a few more done before next week

They'll skip it completely.

Why are you worried about the names of the rangers?
Outside of a few instances, PR doesn't use Sentai's naming conventions.
PR tends to stick with "Series name" [Color] Ranger.

Last instances I remember are Zeo and Turbo. In Zeo they were numbered, and in Turbo they were named after whatever vehicle they drove. But yea. My guess is it'll be back to the numbering system.

And the series will be called Power Rangers Rail Force. Calling it now.

Not in Turbo. They called out their vehicle during the morphing sequence, but they identified as "[Color] Turbo Ranger."

And I don't think they'll use Rail Force. After all, they're not calling Dino Charge "Dino Force," so they might have realized that not every series needs to be a "Force" :p

Rail Knights, because the guy who guessed Dino Charge on deviantART was spot on.

Also, they can't be Rail Knight Red-Pink Ranger. It'd have to be Rail Knight Ranger 1-5 Red. I'm glad for that little note in ToQGer.

Any thoughts on my Zord name ideas?

My guess would be, if they go with Rail Knight, Rail Locomotive and on.

Rail Knight sound pretty awesome. With the Norikae Henshin it could be "Red Rail Knight Pink Mode" or something like that.

I approve of these names.

I'm not worried about what to call the rangers in terms of colour or number. I'm not sure about switching between rainbow express, power rangers, or just rangers every time someone says ToQGER

I literally just said I'm not sure if i'm gonna do a script for it and there is no 'they' it's me alone in my bedroom doing this for fun.

Seriously read why I started this thread. it's not a thread about how saban will adapt the show, it's asking for advice on my own adaptation of the Over-Time scripts for the young people in my life who want to watch it without the confusion of Japanese naming conventions. Fair enough if this is in the wrong place, let me know and i'll move it to the correct area.

I understand that threads can change over time into different things but almost every post by you and someothers in this thread has been about how saban will adapt the show and what they will do. I have no interest in what saban does. I started this for help i'd appreciate getting some rather than just people ****ing on Saban. I'd really appreciate it.

Iffen I may make a suggestion? Have the support Ressha be mentioned as sitting in a yard somewhere before summoning.

Hence why Diesel is Yardmaster; it combines with the other support Ressha, and also waits in the yard

Saban will skip this season too ?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am literally adapting over-times scripts so i'll be having the other mechs come from where they are in the show. no yard or anything unless it's in the show

I'd appreciate being talked to with a little more respect. I never once disrespected you during this thread, and there was absolutely no reason to talk down to me or anyone like that. A question was asked and I answered. That simple.

By completely ignoring why I started this thread and ignoring what I am trying to do, i'd say is pretty disrespectful... It is a two way street after all

Also the question was if I was gonna adapt the script not if saban would do the crossover.
