Kagezuno's Toku-esque Art Thread
1 Attachment(s)
Erm, hello.
I thought I'd post a few pics I've done for various Toku-related things I've done in the past. Many years ago, a friend of mine and I collaborated on a sequel to Jetman fanfic/sequel (this was 1995--we had no idea that this was a thing that had been done in several iterations) I wrote the initial stories, he finished the series and took it in his own direction. You can see it all here But he commissioned me to do bunches and bunches of art and design the mecha and all that, and well, I thought I'd share some of it with y'all. Here's one I did later, on a lark. I'd designed a new Jet Icarus, and I was toying around with extra combinations/alternate modes between mecha, and I came up with this heavily armed/armoured version: Hope y'all like it! If there's call for it, I may post some more. |
That's a very uniform design. Do you have drawings of the individual components?

Had 'em. Since it's commission work, the commissioner has the original, but I may have some scans handy . . .let me see what I can dig up.
It's hard to see the combinations pieces in this version--essentially this is a larger vehicle (the Jet Cruiser in the BG) linking up over the revised Jet Icarus I did (which looks a bit more combiner-Y) But I should have better evidence of that somewhere on my HD. EDIT: Yes, I do. Here's the base version of Jet Icarus I did, with the smaller fighters in the BG |

Oooh, good thing I caught up with this before it slid off the first page.
Just finished this one--not only is it my first all-CG mecha, it was a surprise for the Return of Jetman site, which as been online for ten years (total time working on this whole concept? 17 years) So to commemorate said milestone, I thought I'd go back and see if I couldn't add in another combining mech and do something new and cool. Hope y'all like it! |
