Legendary Picture's Godzilla Release Date Announced
 

Yesterday Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures released a press release to announce the release date of director Gareth Edward's (Monsters) new Godzilla movie. Expected to be in 3D, it has a tentative release date of May 16th 2014, the same day as the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. However this is still quite a while away and release dates may be adjusted.

here's hoping....

I saw "Monsters" and it was awful. Not very hopeful with the same director attached to this.

I've been looking forward to this movie for quite a while, especially after their promises that the movie would be more faithful to the Japanese monster than be a radical adaptation like the Emmerich film. Hopefully we'll get to see a fantastic combination of American production values and Japanese ingenuity.

Should be interesting to see where they go with this movie. Though if they stick with that date, I'll be going to see the new Ninja Turtle movie at least once before thinking about going to see this. I've never seen any of the Director's work (doesn't seem to have done much at all so far), so I'm not exactly hopeful about this new iteration of Godzilla.
