Its annoying, but given that Gokai Blue/Green/Silver didn't seem to sell all that well I can't really blame Bandai. Another problem I'd imagine there would be if they were all mass release is that they'd clog up a lot of release space, (5-6 months if they were released consecutively). That's all well and good if you want a specific team, but then that alienates everyone who doesn't want to complete said team by putting off other ones.

You underestimate Bandai's love of our money. Do you know the rest of the team are usually exclusives? Because they know we'll buy them. Oh, we'll bitch. But we'll buy them.

The big reason I see is market flooding. If they release an entire team, then entire teams will be taking up all the shelf space on the market.
For example, if they decided to mass release Go-Onger, then that'd be, like, 8 months straight of JUST Go-Onger Figuarts. Adding in that only Red ever seems to turn in a decent profit in the mass market, and you just set yourself up for disaster just so that the FEW (Note: Few.) collectors who desire to have an entire team for cheap (For lack of a better word) can be happy. |

Sentai Figuarts just don't sell that well to be honest. Even the reds don't make that much money for Bandai. There just isn't much interest in Sentai Figuarts as there is in others so naturally Bandai's only choice is to release figures as exclusives. It's a shame but there just isn't enough demand for full Sentai teams to be released at retail. Akibaranger was an exception but Tamashii Nations went all out on Akibaranger, not to mention that Akibaranger was a show catered to adults and older teenagers.

This stopped bugging me a while ago. Because I understand the reasoning behind it. And if I really want to complete a certain team, it's worth it to me even if the exclusives don't come with extra accessories. In any case it's still better than paying after market prices on exclusive. Those can be RIDICULOUS.
I missed out on a $75 ShinkenGreen(used, but only for display) a couple weeks ago. Made me sad. The next cheapest one I found was on ebay for $123 shipped. |
