Shin Kamen Rider
This is arguably the strangest entity in the Kamen Rider movie-verse:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7TF0KUxnXA Shin was made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise and essentially serves as a "Grim-Dark" reboot, using more violent imagery and hoping to launch a new series of films. Future projects with Shin were canceled after this films' negative reception, but Shin continues to appear in other Rider Anniversary shows. |
I've seen Shins' movie and well, there's good reason that his future projects were cancelled :lol That being said though I actually love his more kaijin-like suit design. He truly is an altered human Rider in every sense. He's terrifying at some points really. I think he's a welcome addition into the the anniversary show/movie stuff.

I've always felt that Shin was an interesting idea, just poorly executed. Making the Rider more of a monster could actually be really cool and entertaining, but the Shin movie was so slow and plodding that it just drained the audience's interest by the time we got to anything actually exciting.

He doesn't much feel like a Kamen Rider, really. Yeah, he fights for justice (sorta), but he doesn't ride a bike (sorta) , or even wear a mask (sorta). Also, the movie suffers from Star Wars Episode II syndrome, and is wholly boring until about the last 5 minutes.

He kind of looked like the live-action Spawn during his transformation.. that's not a good thing.

The movie was just too boring/slow paced for me. I've seen it once and I doubt I'll ever watch it again.

You what just hit me? The film is called Shin Kamen Rider. Think about what the word Shin can mean.
