what does your family think of your love of Toku
 

i don't know if there is a thread for this so i making one. so the threads about what does your family or other half think of your hobbie and japanese plastic crack addiction. are they supportive or do not dare tell them due to you have the kind of family that will get made at you open up about it in this thread here

My wife has actually learned to like some of the things I like in the toys...I keep it all in my mancave/geek room though lol. I guess after watching all that stuff on Dr. Phil, she knows there are much worse things I could be into lol

Parents- Don't spend too much money
Sister- Don't Spend too much money, but I'll let you get something
Aunt (from Dad's side)- If you're gonna trade Toku stuff with someone, make them send first.
Aunt (from mom's side)- Let me take you were you wanna go!
Cousin- This is so cool! Thanks for introducing it to me!

I'll use OOO format.

Mother - How old are you?
Father - Disinterest (But that's with everything)
Brother - Disinterest
Sister-in-Law - Disgust
Girlfriend - Rick Medina is hot!

I learned, fairly early, not to bring it up around anyone related to me by blood or marrage.

Mother: Watch how much you spend
Father: Disinterest
Sister: They're toys. How old are you?
Any other family: Unaware
Girlfriend: Absolutely terrified of telling (althoug she did see a few of my Figuarts when I first started... didn't say a word... and that number has increased tenfold since...)

I don't think my family would be too understanding of my toku fondness. Plus my dad is too touchy-feely at times, so telling him is out of the question.

It sucks ass that I'm the only one who knows about this in my family. It's really made me bitter and jaded that when there's a toku question I can't answer, I'm stuck.

Hell, I'm amazed that I was ever able to finish my fanfics with KR characters. Sometimes I wonder if liking all of this is worth it in the end.

mom-she doesnt care all that much
dad-disinterest, unless it affects him then its rage mode!
brother- power rangers, we all know that im sure
gramma- best. gramma. ever. that is all

Mom / step dad - Used to watch Power Rangers with me as a kid , and i never stopped loving superheroes and collecting toys or comics. So this doesn't bother them. My step dad just brings up the day he took me to see Power Rangers live at a arena when i was a kid. My Mom brings up the Pachinko machine monster a lot.

Dad - Doesn't care

Wife - always supportive of my hobby. Says she will watch Megaforce with me when that starts. But can't get over the language barrier of Toku.

Sister - Likes Twilight , has no room to make fun of me :lol

Co-Workers - All think i am weird. Doesn't bother me. The only toku side they see of my is my Green Ranger tattoo on my arm.

everyone thinks im crazy and throwing money away.

Well, I'm at that age where I should be trashing cars and burning down houses in the name of fun, so the people around me don't think it's too terrible that the worst I do is buy toys every now and then.
