MegaForce Gosei Grand Megazord Gallery
24 Attachment(s)
Perhaps one of the most anticipated figures in Wave 1 of the MegaForce line is the Gosei Grand Megazord, comprised of the separately released Lion Mechazord, Sea Lion, and Sky Lion figures.
The 'Lion Mechazord' is slightly smaller than the BoJ release but is fairly accurate to the source design. It comes with a 4 & 1/2 inch Robo Knight figure that transforms into the lion head. Robo Knight has 6 points of articulation, 8 if you count the feet. The zord comes with two pressure missiles that feel thin and have the potential to snap easily. The Lion Mechazord has an alternate 'Tank' mode in which Robo Knight can pilot. The Lion Mechazord comes packaged with the Lion Zord (P-047) and Gosei Grand Megazord (P-049) cards. The Knight Brothers, consisting of the Sky and Sea Lion zords were redesigned as 'Ranger Cycles' for the MegaForce line. Each zord has a set of wheels that are easily attached and detached to make the cycle mode. Each set comes with a 3 inch ranger figure that can ride the zord in vehicle mode. The Sea Lion set comes with the Knight Brothers Zords (P-024) and Gosei Grand Megazord (P-042) cards. The Sky Lion set comes with the Knight Brothers Zords (P-048) and Gosei Grand Megazord (P-040) cards. All three lions combine together to form the Gosei Grand Megazord in a near identical fashion to the BoJ release. Gosei Grand stands at approximately 12 & 1/2 inches tall from it's feet to the very tip of the helmet's crest. Gosei Grand combines easily with the Gosei Great to form the Gosei Great Grand Megazord in, again, near identical fashion as the BoJ version. The tip of the GGG Megazord's lance weapon can be switched out with any of the three 'helmet' zords (currently unnamed) from the Land, Sea, and Sky Brother sets. I'm really surprised with how good that looks. I don't like the Lions are seperate, but I still love this.

It does actually look really good and an overall superior set to the Gosei Great Megazord. I think the Lion Mechazord alone is already rather majestic, with the gold and black contrasting really well.

I'm impressed how faithful this is to the BoJ version and it looks like a great toy, but I still really don't like the design. I love the Lion mechazord on its own, and the combination from the shoulders to the waist, but that giant head and primary coloured legs just ruin any chance of it looking good.

The only real disappointment is the lack of a ton of silver paint on the Sea and Sky lions. I'll have to do that myself.

I love this zord set. I can't wait to get this, the size and design are overall wins for me. :D

Beautiful. Really can't wait to get all the Megaforce stuff, especially now that I've finally got everything I need from Samurai =D

The Lion Mechazord is easily the crown jewel of this line. I've said it before, but it needs said again - I'm genuinely impressed with how BoA recreated it. I was not expecting a Groundion Header that could transform into RoboKnight.
Now I still have problems with the Gosei Grand Megazord itself, like the giant freaking head. But it still manages to look pretty good. |
