2013 Robot Cosplay:Daizyujin!
 

Most of you know, I am a cosplayer, and my most recent cosplay was Gurren Lagann, but I've been wanting to do a Tokusatsu robot cosplay, and since the designer of gurren lagann, the awesome NatsumeRyu of Transcostumers, has a design all ready to go, I figured I'd make it my next costume:

Daizyujin or as we all know it, the MMPR MEGAZORD!

I plan to have him finished by halloween of this year for use at ikkicon if i go again

There was a prop maker a few years back on Rangerboard named Corazon Azul who did an incredible job creating one of these.

I'll see if I can pull up photos from somewhere.

^yeah I've seen his costume before, love it, except the horns, they are too wide, but overall I love his costume

I'm plenty sure yours will be just as great. I like his, because it's clean and neat, but I do agree the horns and overall appearance give it a kiddish look, in my opinion anyway.

His Red Dragon Thunderzord Warrior Mode was a huge improvement.

If it works like you want, I might attempt a Voltron :lol

oh yeah, his Ryusei-oh is GORGEOUS, and I don't hate his megazord at all, he does fantastic work, I was just stating a point that I'm not too fond of.

he does great work, and is easily the best Daizyujin I've seen, I'm hoping mine can turn out half as decently as his


a voltron would be just as simple, anything can be done with funfoam and preprekura, that was how gurren lagann was made and how Daizyujin is gonna be made.

attached is a photo of my gurren lagann if people want to see, though at this time it was 90% done, now its 99%, only thing left is to attach the glasses to the chest with more magnets

when it came to gurren lagann, I had a lot of help from my friend Natsume, because I didn't know what I was doing, but this time I'm doing by myself, so while I do know the basics, its just gonna be a trial of my patience to make it just right

Wow, Its a huge project but that would look great.
