Atlantic Rim - Your Low Budget Daikaiju Alternative
 

You may have heard of a little film called Pacific Rim by Guillermo del Toro which sees the return of the Daikaiju genre to the west! Exciting news indeed for kaiju and mecha fans far and wide. However, have you heard of the tentatively titled Atlantic Rim/From the Sea?

Well mockbuster production company The Asylum (infamous for such borderline knockoff films as Snakes on a train, The Day The Earth Stopped, Transmorphers, Titanic II, Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus, and much more) is busy producing this latest entry. Shooting has begun for the film in the Pensacola, Florida area and walks the line of the plot for Pacific Rim. As told by the films Second Unit Director:
The Asylum is notorious for their almost exclusively straight to DVD films, their ongoing legal battles with major studios, and their tendency to walk the line of legality when making these mockbusters.

I never seen any of the KO movies, are they any good?

I've only seen Transmorphers, but I doubt the rest of them would be worth your time.

"Atlantic Rim" doesn't even make sense.

It isn't supposed to. It's just a play on Pacific Rim to draw in viewers.

I know, but that doesn't excuse stupidity.

i like a good KO movie some time when i want to have a good laugh but they just dont stop

I rented Transmorphers.
It was so bad the audio was off by 7 seconds by the end of it :lol

When is this coming out? I have never seen a date for it's coming out.
