If Megaforce wasn't Megaforce?
 

So I'm curious to what you guys, Toku-fans what kind of story line would've you guys made for Megaforce than what is now? Would you keep the Kids in Highschool plot or something totally different. Anything but a story like Goseiger counts.

The story itself I'm enjoying how it is. The only thing I'd change is Robo Knight. And how his origin came into play. Instead of a Robot from Who Knows Where... I'd go with this:

After Zordon was killed by Andros, Gosei knew one day it would be up to him alone to save Humanity. And choose a new team. But he didn't want to put the people he was meant to protect in danger, so he used most of his energy to create a Knight. Gosei Knight. But Gosei Knight was broken. His main directive was saving the World.. and he saw Humanity harming the Earth through pollution. He started attacking the people and Gosei knew he needed to stop him. So Gosei used all of his remaining energy to banish Gosei Knight into the Arctic. Forcing Gosei to take the shape of an Idol to replenish his energies.

But when the Mutants rose Gosei knew the Rangers needed help. So Tensou, Gosei's second attempt at making something like Gosei Knight, travelled to the Arctic and freed Gosei Knight. Who resumed his mission... Can the Rangers turn him to the side of the Humans?!

I'd do everything they're already doing, but good.

I'd have dropped Goseiger into the ash-heap of history and just done Gokaiger. Frankly I don't see why they're kind of shafting what was the more popular show with the by far more successful gimmick.

Either that or kept the angel thing. A majority of the US believes angels are real, so why hide that aspect? It probably would've gone over huge. Angel superheroes.

Angels solving their problems with violence and killing. Yeah, that will go well with parents. :rolleyes

Google image search 'Archangel Michael'. The Bible is extremely violent. Even the angels got in on it.

I'm not arguing that. I'm arguing that partents are stupid enough to consider that bad to put in a children's show. This is more about being "politically correct" than anything to do with religion. It wouldn't go over well with a lot of people and it's unnecessary to keep to that theme. That's the point.

The number one change I would make would be to ditch this entire cast and start from scratch. I've seen puddles deeper than the main characters of MegaForce. Right now they seem to play exclusively to their intended stereotypes, and their portrayals fall somewhere between broken record and zombie. (I know Jake has his moments, but it's a lost cause) The plot of MegaForce really isn't that bad, the execution is just downright terrible though.

Second, I'd tone down the environmental message just a bit. This isn't a political preference of mine, I love the environment as much as the next guy, and it's a good lesson for kids, but it just gets annoying after the 50th time or when all the episodes revolve around it. Especially when one main character's entire purpose seems to be to harp on it in every episode.

I'd also love to see them spend just a little more time on quality control. Edit the text on the cards, maybe shoot some more in-suit footage. I know they're on a budget and it's cheaper just to ignore it and assume the kids who primarily watch the show won't care, but if it were up to me, I'd take the extra time on the details and really try to make sure this season was a worthy celebration of 20 years of Power Rangers.

Last but not least, cut it down to one season and make Gokaiger into a different series. Whose idea it was to put these two seasons together, I don't know, but it just doesn't make sense to me at all. I can't wait to see how they transition this current team into the pirate motif, I've got a feeling it's going to be awful though. Both Sentai seasons are good enough to stand on their own. Let MegaForce run it's course, and then give us a Gokaiger adaptation next year. I think both kids and long-time Power Rangers/Sentai fans would love to see a pirate-themed Power Rangers. But making it seem like an extension of this current Power Rangers season (which has nothing at all to do with Gokaiger) would totally miss out on that enthusiasm.

I thought the point was to say what we ideally wanted to do with Megaforce. What's the fun in saying what would actually happen? We know what actually happened with Megaforce.

I'd have spent more making everything look coherent (like the cards), and maybe made Tensou into something better looking. Not Datas, but not a knockoff cgi Wall-E either.

Other than that I don't really have any problem with the direction it's going in.
